omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 22, 2004 Updated: Dec 14, 2004Bottled. Nut brown. Intensely roasty, sweet, and thick rich maltiness. Notes of licorice and ash, richly hoppy with really bitter finish. Oakes (6793), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 23, 2005 Golden amber colour. Slightly earthy, caramelly aroma. Chewy, woody bitterness with caramel layers and lots of earthiness. Things ease up a bit towards the finish, right when I want the intensity to increase. Sort of ashy-tasting, just like its younger brother. Solid, but unspectacular. I grasp what Uerige is aiming for, but I don’t think that this is the best the style can do - that’s Im Fuchschen. argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA May 2, 2004 Medium beige head atop a clear copper body. Aroma is light sweet, caramel, light grassy/herbal. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some fruity, some alcohol evident, finishing herbal/earthy. Medium body. Very drinkable. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 03/24/2007

duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 18, 2004 Bottle. Cool looking bottle. Really thin neck with a swing top cap. Well, i always thought it was perhaps going to be a little bit stale. Motelpogo said to me that alts are always better from the source, and i will take his word for it. Even though this was a little stale, there was still alot to be pleased about. Soft toffee malts. Grassy, herbal hops in the finish, nice, soft, dry palate. Very nice, if a little stale.
