COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

11.2 oz. custom bottle. Pleasant, nutty, sweet aroma, some caramel and hazelnut with hints of creamy toffee, flowery, spicy hops and cookieish malts. Some vague fruits lurking in the background. Rusty dark orange color with a slight, fine head. Flavor depth is highly impressive, with plenty of toasty, succulent, sugary, bready malts up front and bright, tangy, salty, herbal, fruity, spicy bitterness underneath, intertwined with notes of butterscotch and leafy hops. Light, refreshing, peppery mouthfeel with a low level of effervescence, body is medium. Incredibly drinkable and a fine Alt.

I've been looking for a replacement for the awesome Blimp City Akron/Macon Ale since they went out of business, and I think I have found it! The beer is a dark brown/amber with an ultra thin off-white head. Very little lacing. The aroma is nice and full, with caramel, malt and sweet fruit. Medium-bodied and very drinkable with a pleasing blend of flavors such as malt, raisin, caramel and hops. The finish is the only place it falls off a little. There is a slight metallic tinge to the fruity finish that was out of character with the beer. A slightly bigger hops finish would make it nearly perfect. As it stands though, this is one of the better Alts I have had.

great session beer, if only it were cheaper. I can’t justify the $8 purchase of a bottle of this, but oddly enough I found a bottle for $3 at a beer bar. Lots of malts here, and not many hops to balance it. It tastes pleasantly full and lightly alcoholic. Exactly the type of beer I could have 8 of in one night and not tire from it. Nice caramel taste to it.

Bottle shared with brewfiend at Cellars WIne & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a slightly cloudy copper brown with a thick and lumpy off-white head. Very nice lacing. Aromas of sweet malt, walnuts, some earth tones, caramel and a whiff of vanilla. Taste is smooth, lightly sweet with a bitter finish. The aftertaste reveals some citrus and pine grind. Those Germans know how to make excellent beer.

Smells like a barley wine. Dark red-brown in color with a beige head. Mid to heavy bodied. Very smooth drinker. Hoppy yet not too bitter. I wish that it was brewed more than two times per year.

Serving: 330 ml bottle. Appearance: Orange-brown with a large, rocky, off-white head. Great head retention. Aroma: A little fruity from the hops, nuts and grain notes from the malt. Fairly mild overall. Taste:Grainy with notes of caramel malt, light fruit notes, and perhaps a touch of wood. Palate: Medium carbonation with a light, dry mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Overall: I was told this is pretty much a dead on alt. If so, I am a fan. I found this one to be quite drinkable and would definitely recommend giving it a go.

A cloudy red-orange pour with a large, rocky off-white head. It has a sweet, malty nose with caramel, cereal, bubblegum, and some floral hops. The taste is smooth and sweet. The medium body has lively carbonation. Some light bitterness appears in the finish.

Deep brown in the glass with a thick creamy head. Aroma of earthy, spicy noble hops and cereal grains. Great balance on the palate with a surprising bitter note. Great beer.
