Bottle. I had first had this beer in Chicago last year. Clear amber with a foamy tan head and lacing. One of the first alt. Beers I have had that is so complex. Nutty malt and a grassy hop bite. Nice beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rastacouere (5900) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 9, 2004
Orange brown body with a foamy white head. Aroma presents rather vague bready and earthy malt which is caramelic. Surprisingly, yeast plays an important part giving it an interesting banana fruitiness. The 60 ibus appear rather well hidden though, mostly displayed as peppery hints. It doesn’t seem too complex though. Once you take a sip though, it’s immediately superior to the aroma. There’s a very spicy hoppiness complementing the beautiful yeast. The image I’d use to describe it is a flower in a cemetary. Aftertaste is rather complex as well, grassy, green, robust yet balanced with tea hints. Medium bodied with rather low carbonation. I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much and was expecting an hyped alt for it’s rather rare, but this is worth seeking.

Pours an intresting mahogany color that is extremely clear. Head fades, but never went away completely. Super smooth malty body with hints of light crystal malt, grass, and a very slight smoke. Hops are just bitter enough to shine through the malty, nutty body. Beautiful.

Bottled 11.2 oz. Mahogany brown. Light roasted malt aroma mixed with some fruit. Good carbonation. Malty with some hoppy bitterness at end. A good clean taste. Multiple tastings.

Pours a dark copper with minimal head. Aroma is dry white wine, caramel, thickly malted, a nice stickiness to it, a little nutty I think similar to cashews. Caramel, slight nuttiness, bitter sting when first hits your tongue then spreads into a semi-sweet chocolate taste. Palate is kind of light with a subtle stickiness. Unique experience with a nice Alt. I wish I had a bigger bottle of this.

Bottled. Pour was a hazy medium amber with orange highlights and a tall, creamy beige head. Fragrant grassy and floral hops meshed with a considerable amount of caramel maltage... very enticing. Caramel malts and fresh floral hops throughout the flavor, too... along with some nuttiness. Smooth and medium-bodied at best on the palate, with some hoppy bitterness at the finish. Quite an enjoyable brew, and Style Rating #70.

Reddish tan, small off white head. Hazy. Aroma is all malt, with hints of plum and raisin. The first sip brings bitterness to the corner of the mouth. Medium body, sweet, very enjoyable.

Nice brown color, not much head. Sweet malt aroma, mild. Much better than I expected to be honest. Was unprepared. Balanced hops with malt seetness. Not too complex just tasty. Reuse this one for homebrew.
