COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 Sample from tap at CBF. Pours black with little, tan head and lace. Aroma is roasted malt with faint coffee notes - no hint of the vanilla though.creamy texture with soft carbonation, ful body and a dark, roasted finish. Taste is somewhat bitter and slightly ascorbic. Quite filling and the abv is masked well. Could use a bit more complexity though - can’t really detect the vanilla for example.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2012 On tap. Pours black with a small off-white head. Heavy coffee notes up front with a layer of vanilla softening up the mocha and roast. Rich roasty body, again a little heavy on the carbonation, massive and delicious coffee accents again leading to a roasty bitter finish. Well made, and doesn’t REALLY appear 10%. 110512

Aroma has coffee, some roasted malt and milk chocolate. Flavour has mocha, some jalopeno-like vegetables, roasted malt and semi-dark chocolate. Reminds me of Struise BD II. Rather hard to spot the vanilla here. Nice.
