COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

0.33l bottle. This is a near black one with a nice medium sized quite lacing chocolaty top. The nose is filled with chocolate and lightly roasted malt, some coffee and, yes, vanilla. It’s definitely not to complex or difficult, but it’s quite nice. Softly burned- bitter on the flavor. Lots of cold coffee and roasted malts. It’s average on the carbonation with a nice oily mouthfeel. Really coffee-bitter, but also somewhat sweet. Liquid cocoa bitter with traces of wood and, again some vanilla. Ends light dry on the tongue. Quite a tasty one. On the sweet side, but never over the top. Really well masked alcohol. 16.11.2012

330 ml bottle. A black body with a nice beige head. Aroma of moderate roasted malt, roasted coffee and a light hint of vanilla. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roasted dark malt, expresso coffee and mild vanilla with some fruitiness. Fine body and a pleasant aftertaste dominated by bitterness and coffee. Nice, not amazing, but a porter with distinct flavors and relatively easy to drink. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden.
