COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

This looks bit like irish coffee which is not bad. Eben black with creamy dessert foam on top leaving good lacing. Aroma is bittersweet with good roasted malt, roasted marinated fruits, licorice and bit seasalt. Smells good! Medium body, light feel, soft carbonation, lots of good quality coffee roasted just right to my taste, long finish, bit fruits here also. Nuanced and tasty. Really nice coffee flavor. One to savour in peace, enjoying all nuances. If you don’t like coffee you propably won’t enjoy this either but if you do..this will be be your date of choice.

Pitch black pour with a mildly tanned head. Roasty aromas of coffee, chocolate, rye, and freshly burnt toaster-bread. Not getting any vanilla. A bit metallic in the aftertaste. Overall, a decent but not exeptional beer.

33 cl bottle @ home, souvenir from last Summer’s Denmark vacation. Black color. Big beige head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s of roasted malts, mocha, ground coffee and some vanilla sweetness and chocolate. Also retronasal the vanilla gives it mildness. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, mocha, vanilla. Medium bodied, alcohol well hidden. Finishes hard roasted, fairly dry and moderate bitter. Really nice!

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket i Skibotn 30 Mar 13. Svart. Litt lacing. Behagelig kaffearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er kaffe med en anelse vanilje. Blir tørr etter hvert. Alkoholen veldig godt kamuflert.

Bottle @ home.
App: Pitch black, oily, brown thick creamy head, nice lacings.
Aroma: Ink, espresso, cocoa, burnt sugar, alcool, wood.
Taste: Sweet, burnt malty with a high bitterness. Dark bitter chocolate, ink, some espresso, molasses, wood and bitter herbs like wormwood.
Palate: Big, sticky and oily thick with slightly foamy carbonation.
Overall: The vanilla escaped me. Mostly got a sharp unpleasant inky bitterness and alcohol. Unrefined.
