English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

Bottle thanks to bursprak! Pours inky black, medium tan head, dissipates fairly quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma is coffee and vanilla for sure, some roasty malt and cocoa. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, fairly sharply acidic. Lots of coffee and vanilla, burned cocoa. Fullish body, lingering bitterness. A bit high on acidity, otherwise not bad.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2015 0.33 bottle. Very dark brown color and a small, beige head which leaves a thick lacing. Very coffee-like aroma, some real vanilla, dark malts, some meat, and marzipan. The aroma of coffee is so distinctive that if I knew anything about coffee I would be able to distinguish the type. Taste is very malty, again coffee, delicate roast, but also some hop bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy texture, and average carbonation. Finish is delicate, relatively speaking of course, less imposing. Overall the beer is good quality-wise but I am not a big fan of coffee brews.

Bottle 33cl. Pitch black with a small brown head. Due to it’s thick viscosity it was difficult to generate any head. Strong coffee notes in the nose. Very nice rich beer. Great body where the malt is nicely balanced with the bitter hops. Long finish.
