COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

Black coloured with a dark head. Aroma of malt, some fruits and vinilla with a coffee finish. Round and smooth. An incredible, thick and oily mouthfeel. Taste of malt, roasted coffee beans and vanilla in a soft and smooth taste, but still with a good coffee bitterness.

Black with a light brown to beige head. Aroma is roasted coffee, but round/mild. Smooth roasted coffee taste, not too heavy on the bitterness. Smoothed with vanilla flavour. Close to perfectly balanced.

Black colour, red hue, firm beige head. Aroma of coffee, red fruits, liquorice root (zoethout), alcohol and wet leaves. Vanilla flavour, sweet roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Finish coffee, vanilla, sweet caramel and chocolate. I didn’t quite like the nose, but the flavour is great.
(From 33cL bottle @ weekly tasting, Benzai’s place. Thanks for sharing, Rene!)

Bottle @ Benzai thx to Benzai. Black coloured beer with a nice ruby red glow shining through, medium sized beige head. Smells alcohol, red fruits, roasty, whisky and maybe even some oak. Tastes roast, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Full body, low to medium carbo. The last sip was the best.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Martinus at weekly tasting. Black color, medium sized tan to light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma has malts, roasted malts, coffee, but no vanilla. Taste malts, roasted malts, lightly vanilla, nicely bitter. Quite long lingering roasty bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Pours pitch black with a proper medium-brown head. Smell of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. It also has hints of oak. Flavours found are roasted malt, coffee, oak and, of course, vanilla (hence the name). I detect a small hint of alcohol as well. At 10% ABV, this hardly comes as a surprise. Leaves a lingering sensation on the palate that reminds me of spicy peppers and chili fruits. Great porter this! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
