English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

Bottle. Almost black colour with a beige head. Roasted malt, vanilla, espresso, citric hops, licorice. A bit too heavy on the harsh and burnt notes.

En fin strong porter. Kanske hade mått bättre av ett år i källaren. Men helt ok balanserad ändå.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark dark brown/ black. Brown mocca medium to thick head. Aroma espresso italy;) a touch of soft leather, sweet vanilla maybe a hint och muscovado sugar. Taste is coffe hints of vanilla sweet malt tones. Hops are thought out well in my book. They let the malt and coffe tones come trough nicely. Like the mouth fell in perticular soft and rich;) Nice beer overall for todays soccer game wich Sweden just won against Irland.

I’m currently totally down with the danish. My two local "Systembolag" imports a healthy combination of really outstanding danish beer and Ugly Duck is definitely one of them! Like many beer-geeks, Imperial Stouts with a twist is my absolute favorite kind of beer. I also happen to love vanilla and coffee, this brew just couldn’t go wrong with me. It didn’t. Pours dark brown and settles thick and black with a brown/beige foam. Aroma is licorice, sweet tobacco, vanilla and roasted malts and espresso and boiled fresh-potatoes (or along those lines). Light/medium carbonation and a mellow mouth-feel. Very full and complex. The ABV really helps the beer develop and come together in your mouth. The vanilla might be a little on the weak side here, but its definitely there. Heavy roasted character, but not too dry. The hops in this is also very balanced and just structures it all up. Serve this beer along with a desert (chocolate fondant), a mousse or just as company to a good and old single malt.

tap@Voldby Ølmesse -black pour with a beige head. Coffee, chocolate, caramel with some nice flavoursome hops in there as well. Some nuances of vanilla and liquorice. Smooth mouthfeel with some slightly smokey, roasted malts. Complex and well balanced. Lovely.

330 ml bootle. Very dark brown close to black. Roasted black coffee. A little harsh coffee aromas and flavours. Quite bitter. Rich flavourful malts with lots of caramel and a roasted background. Very good, but a little unbalanced because of the harsh coffee.

Very dark brown almoust black with a 2 finger high, beige, head tha quickly dissapears with a little lacing on the glass. Nose: Vanilla, milk chocolate, sweet brown sugar, dark syrup, a little honey, coffee, espresso and roasted malt. Taste: Coffee, roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate, salty soy sauce, ash, just a litte hint of vanilla, soil and bitterness. Full body with just a little carbonation. Warm finish. Great!
