English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

Poured deep dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate, roast malt and vanilla. Medium to full body, flavour as the aroma, bitter sweet finish.

Pours pitch black with a medium light brown head. Aroma heavily dominated by roasted coffee and sweet, dark fruits, some chocolate, caramel and some vanilla. Taste is very roast-dominated with a good but faint, sweet (and bittersweet) vanilla-aftertaste. Quite a good porter - would’ve liked some more vanilla.

Pours black with a finger of light brown head. The aroma has a very prominent coffee tone, like a quality espresso with a high amount of robusto beans. Add to that a heavily roasted, almost smoky maltiness, licorice and dark chocolate. I can barely detect a feint vanilla hint which I never would have got unless I knew it was there. Lighter on the palate then expected but with a creamy texture. Roasted tones to the fore and a massive bitterness (on par with a fresh double IPA) which stays on the palate for a long time. Not a great balance, but a cool brew.

Bottle @ D-Day in Mojnlandet :-) Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of coffee. Dark flavour of roast, malt and coffee, with subtle touches of fruit and alcohol. Bitter afteraste with boozy notes. OK but where is my vanilla?

Pitch black, small beige head. Sweet, roasted aroma. Flavour has coffee, but not much vanilla. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Decent although very dominated by coffee and as such it lacks the finesse of some of the better examples in this style.

Has a nice smell of coffee, roasted malts, smoke, burnt sugar, caramel and vanilla. Pours black with a brown head. Has a strong taste of coffee, smoke, roasted malts and liquorice. A very nice beer.

Purchased at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen, DK, enjoyed on my last day in this lovely city from my hotel room. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, rich light tan head that nicely laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in coffee and vanilla, with additional chocolate notes. Taste is pretty nice, really curious about this 10% ABV because it doesn’t feel like such a strong ale.

I really love vanilla. I really do. This one has a lot of it. And that is really good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
