3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2012 On tap. Pours black with a small off-white head. Heavy coffee notes up front with a layer of vanilla softening up the mocha and roast. Rich roasty body, again a little heavy on the carbonation, massive and delicious coffee accents again leading to a roasty bitter finish. Well made, and doesn’t REALLY appear 10%. 110512

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Black color, with a nice creamy beige head. The aroma is coffee, just coffee, burnt malt and ashes; not really what a beer is supposed to be, but for sure something that works well in Scandinavia. The body is thinner than expected, at this gravity. Basic flavor of coffee, coffee grounds, dust, burnt malts, ashes. Can’t really call it "Imperial Vanilla Coffee Porter", it’s more a "Dusty Coffee Beer".
I can see the direction this is going to, but I don’t like that direction.
