COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

(Draught at St. Urho’s Pub Portteripäivät’13) The beer poured black. Its head was small and almost white. Aroma had roasted malts, coffee, vanilla and mild fruitiness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, sweetness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste had roastedness, vanilla and bitterness. A very balanced brew. Alcohol was well hidden.

Bottle from a trade with Cunningham, thanx maaan!
Pours deep black with high creamy head. Smells very coffee’ish, with some vanilla, caramel and roasted malts. Starts smooth creamy malty, very roasty with lots of coffee. Finish is creamy, sweet chocolatey with massive coffee notes. Adorable!!

At a tasting, thanks, smallish head, quite opaque dark brown color, aroma of coffee with vanila, dark bread and a hint of hay, flavor of coffee with earthiness and some dark chocolate, quite strong but also quite mellow bitterness, greenish hint at the end that blends in and doesn’t distract. Balanced and highly enjoyable.

I was hoping for a but more smooth coffee and vanilla flavor in this beer. Dark brown/black brew with light brown head. Not much but some coffee aroma. Quite a bit bitterness and not much sweetness. Ok taste but doesn’t have a great finish I think. I don’t taste the vanilla much. A light palate considering the beer type.

Piana drobna, beżowa, ładnie koronkuje. W aromacie ciemne słody, lekko kwaskowe. Po ogrzaniu pojawia się lekki aromat wanilii. Jest też likierowa słodycz. Wyczuwalny alkohol. W smaku wyraźna goryczka, paloność. Nuty kawowe i czekoladowe. Wyraźne chmiele, ale dobrze się komponują. W drugiej nucie wyraźne grzanie od alkoholu - trochę nieułożone. Posmak pralinek, niezbyt słodkie. Daje lekkie odczucie słone.

(Ugly Duck Imperial Vanilla Coffee Porter) Bottle 330 ml, from a trade with humlelala, thanks! Served into a snifter ABV 10% Black colour on the body with a full finger of thick, beige head, with very good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Aroma has tons of coffee, roasted malts, light vanilla, some alcohol after a deep sniff, some hops. Really great taste, again lots of coffee, lots of roasted malts, alcohol present but without any burning, on the contrary compliments the beer, much more vanilla now. Medium thick body, soft carbonation, smooth and creamy feeling on the palate. Very good!

Black color with slightly tan head with good duration and nice lacework. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, notes of coffee, black chocolate and licorice. Flavor is roasty, hints of vanilla and coconut with hints of burnt wood. Final is slightly bittery with black coffee notes.
