Dry sweet-sour aroma of grapes. The cask taste is present. The sourness from the saison is quite well functioning with the dry chardonnay. Un-clear red golden liquid. Light white head. Medium sweet followed by medium sourness. Flat carbonation.

Bottle as Ugly Duck Saison du Chardonnay. Hazy orange/chestnut brown with a large off white head with good retention. Nose has lots of fruit, wood, light barnyard, lemon, white glue. Crisp. Flavour is dominated by the barrel with white wine, glue, white wood, perfume, flowers, country side flowers and barnyard. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium sweet with good acidity. Flavourful and fun to try.

The aroma is a little hard to provide for either the white wine aging is one smells or it is a weak fermented aroma hinting of some brett. The taste is lovely with fresh summer berries and a little touch of white wine from the barrel aging. Light notes of light caramel and a very slight hop bitterness who gets fine edge for its malt sweetness. I would think that this is an excellent beer for summer barbecue menu with light meat and fresh salad.

Lukasmh (780) - Aarhus, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2015
Bottle. Pours hazy orange with small white head, reminiscent of a lambic. Aroma has loads of white whine character and white fruity grapes. Some tart apples, dry booze, peach candy, oak, some grains, leather funk, orange and some liquorice root. Taste is more sweet and malty. Some tart orange, leather, white grapes and medium mellow body. Slight booze and dry oaky finish.
