COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English. Sorachi Ace was developed for the Japanese Sapporo Breweries in the late eighties. It has a very citrussy and lemony scent and taste. When used in large quantities it may resemble dill. Truly a unique hop that resembles nothing you’ve had before. Anyways, here you have a pale ale brewed on pale malts, a slight addition of caramel malts and oats for the smoothness. Massively hopped of course.
Hops: Sorachi Ace Malts: Pilsner, Caramel

2012-05-06, draught at Fairbar, Århus, 7-4-7-3-13=34
Cloudy golden color with creamy head. The aroma is quite mild. The flavor is very dry, weak body, with a sopay lemony malt flavor. Strong bitterness, a bit too much of it in the end.
Unexciting, they can do better (fresher and fruitier) things with Sorachi Ace.

2012-04-29, draught at Fairbar, Århus, 7-4-7-3-13=34
Cloudy golden color; creamy head. Mild aroma of Sorachi Ace, less deep and pungent than in many other beers; it has also a cookie, biscuity touch. Dry but soft mouthfeel, medium-weak body; some malt flavor with a toffee trace; lemony hops with a light vanilla-cake touch; but also, unfortunately, too much bitterness.
A dirty, unbalanced Sorachi Ace beer.
Not bad, but unelegant.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding. Pours hazy yellow-orange with a firm, small, frothy, white head. Aroma has soft bubblegum, light apricot, some cardboard and doughy malts. High carbonation, very dry and fairly thin mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of bitterness, light apricot, some spicy notes. A bit too much and it’s not even the Sorachis fault.
