Hazy deep red - amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is mildly minerally crisp. Rich malts, little dark toffee and thin cream. Ripe fruits in the end, some prune. Trace of esters. Crisp finish. All about the malts here. Okay.

0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Reddish brown color. Sweet raisiny, figgy and toffeish aroma. Sweet taste with raisiny caramel, toffee, dark sugar, cocoa and bitter caramel. Full body. Fairly caramelly taste, which I don’t normally like, but this one goes down well.

Bottle. An almost clear one, dark amber to brown in color and with a dense, finger-thick light beige head. The aroma is roasted and caramelish, with a pleasant hoppyness. Nuts and a touch of coffee. It’s quite bitter on the palate, medium to full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation level. Roasted malts, nuts, caramel and hoppy bitterness in the flavor, lasting for a good while. Quite tasteful this one, and dangerously easy drinkable. 150124

Foffern (1383) - Bodø, NORWAY - JAN 2, 2015
Bottle at home. The color is clear, deep, reddish brown topped with a creamy, light beige head. Sweet aroma of dried fruit, chocolate, fruity hops, coffee, pine needles and leather. The flavor has more fruity hops with pine and grapefruit, and roasted malt and coffee lingering in the background. Has a slick mouth feel, and a balanced bitterness. A nice ale with a fine mix of roasted malt and fruity hops.
