Fromerly named as Janáček Kounic

16/XI/13 - 50cl bottle @ home - BB: 30/XI/13 (2013-1069) Thanks to Marie for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark orange beer, big creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. aroma: grains, hay, cow stable, sweet malts, very rural. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet start, some caramel, lots of grains, bitter touch, some toast. Aftertaste: little bitter, orange peel, bit sweet, malty, hay, grains. Nothing impressive here.

bottle bought at Tesco in Bratislava/Slovakia. I’m a bit disappointed about this beer. I expected more Vienna malt aroma and flavor in this beer. Other Uhersky Brod beers are much more my league. Somehow this beer tastes only bitter with a bitter walnut background. This beer is probably not (yet) for me.

Heavy’s (thanks again!). Daaark golden-amber body with a slightly off white head The aroma is a mix of malty and herbal notes, with some light orange popping up. Dry, nice taste, slightly grainy, yoghurty, somewhat creamy. Hoppy here & there if I remember correctly too. Hah, not the most useful of rates, my notes suddenly getting stupid.

Tap at U Sneka, Znojmo. Has potential but is spoiled by an overabundance of diacetyl. Aroma is mainly butter, apples and biscuits, flavour is mainly butter, apples and metal. Oh, and biscuits. Drinkable but not good.

Bottled 500ml. -at Különleges Sörök Boltja, Budapest. Dark golden/amber coloured, medium sized white head, dusty malty nose. And that’s it, the rest of rate I’ve forgot to wrote...so till nex time (let’s say for three weeks) I’m going to rerate Kounic.

On tap at Kulovy Blesk. Amber with a small white head. Malty aroma with grainy notes and a touch of DMS. Dry and malty flavour with an ever so faint metallic note

bottle from Farmarsky Obchod Praha. Clear amber colour, large white head. Malty base with hints of roasted malts and caramel, some forest honey and nut, grassy-resiny hops that leave a dry finish. I liked it even more with a touch of yeast (the unfiltered version), that added some fruitiness to it.
