COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in small batches annually to commemorate Uinta’s anniversary, this soul-warming brew is now available year-round. (Uinta’s anniversary is observed and noted by the change of the roman numeral on the label.) Uinta’s award winning barley wine has a dark amber hue with a rich malty character. Serious amounts of hops are used to balance its hardy alcohol content of over 10% ABV. Originating in England in the nineteenth century, barley wines are brewed with the same traditional ingredients as beer: water, malted barley, hops and yeast. There are no grapes or fruit used in the brewing process. The name “barley wine” refers to its alcohol content being similar to that of most wines, ranging from 8.5% to 14% ABV. Unlike most beers, barley wines age remarkably well. If you have the will power, set an Anniversary Barley Wine aside for a year or more.

Big hoppy hot aroma with plenty of caramel malt to boot. Rich reddish copper colour with sweetness and bitterness battling it out. Solid but top of the line, but nice to have a beer from Utah!

Bottled: Burgundy coloured. Clear. Light brown dense head. Aroma is herbal, sweet, has some caramelly notes and malt. Flavour is alcoholdense, herbal, fruity and dry. Is dry and sweet bitter in the end.

Uinta 10th: This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of off-white colored foamy bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a semi-transparent brown colored body. The aroma was vinous malty hoppy bready and doughy. The mouth feel was tingly from the start and vinous in the finish. It had a strong vinous malt spice flavor.

Thanks Jordan! Dark crimson, thin creamy light tan head. Nose was full of caramel, toffee, pine, and dark cherry. Well bittered flavors up front with more piney notes blending well with sweet caramel and dark fruit tones. Medium bodied and oily, soft carbonation, dry, fruity, bitter-sweet finish. Not top of the line, but a good tasting BW none the less...

Pours a hazy dark red with a thick creamy coffee foam head. It’s actually a surprisingly dark head considering the color of the beer. Minty hops atop alcohol and cookie malt. The body is surprisingly dry, leaving a very short finish. For once, I’ve found a barleywine where I actually wish there were a little more sweetness and body.

Bottle from Winestyles. Pours dark amber with a thin layer of off white head and great lacing. Aroma of fruit and caramel. Taste of raisins and citrus.

Dark brown pour, thin head, not the biggest Barleywine fan, this is one was OK. Though it is 10.4 ABV, not overbearing, surprisingly smooth. Go Utah!

Good barley wine. Expected a little more though. Plum hue. Boozy, malty aroma. Thin head. Swirly. Great start but the wash down lacks carbonation. Not a very balanced brew even with the 10 ABV. It lacks a bitterness that seems to be the mark of a great barleywine. It seems a tad safe and not in the manner for example The Alaskan Barleywine. It is good but not as the brand subscribes us to believe.

Pours a dark reddish brown color with a lacy off white head. Notes of burnt caramel, orange citrus, cereal, and chocolate. Supple mouthfeel, grainy finish.

Pours a dark brown body with a thick head. Aroma with tones of potato. A rich taste with lots of interesting tones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
