This is a very nice black lager especially for folks not ready for Porters and Stouts. Rich mahogany color, malty sweetness but with good balance with a mild coffee bitterness.

Bottle. Pours translucent black with small beige head. Aroma is roasty, medium body, medium carbonation, and good really small bubble lacing. Taste is roasty, some herbal hops, and some dark chocolate. Pretty good Schwartz beer

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods. Nose of faint toast and yeast. Flavors of roasted coffee, smoke and cocoa. Malt influence is faint. Some bitterness yet the mouth feel remains light and slightly watery with good carbonation. Tasty and drinkable helped along by the super low 4% ABV.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear deep brown with small brownish head. Aroma of strong coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, ash. Flavor of light coffee, roasted malt, ash, light sweetness, earthy, light sourness, light bitter sticky semi-dry finish. Light carbonation, medium-bodied.

12 oz bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served cold in a tulip glass. Deep brown with a so-so tan head. Lots of dark-roasted malt, a touch brothy, black coffee, a touch of the grape jelly thing that I often get in stouts and porters. Medium body, medium+ body, lightly astringent. Roasted malts, minerals, a bit watery, less going on compared to the nose; dry with fairly low bitterness and a slightly watery, roasted finish. Acceptable for the style, which is not very much fun...

On tap at Disney World (Wine and Food Festival). Poured a black color with a small sized off white head. Some roast, coffee, and chocoalte.

Chicokate aroma. Big fluffy head. Dark brown with red highlight. Very smooth and not as roasty as the aroma would indicate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of roasted aromas and flavors with some coffee, caramel and chocolate mixed in, almost like a stout or porter, however the body and texture is too light to carry all that weight.

This is a smooth and pleasing black lager. Excellently named, the Baba black lager is certified organic to boot! Will definitely buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not much aroma. Black Licorice, raisins and malty taste. Some choclate but subtle. Easy to drink. 12oz bottle poured at home.

Draft. Dark cherry brown. Nutty malt aroma. The taste adds light chocolate, tobacco, and some char. Light mouthfeel and body with a medium finish. A touch of smokey citrus on the finish too. Very very good. I definitely want more of this one.
