Some nice lace on the glass as well. The nose is nutty with hints of chocolate caramel and biscuit with earthy and grassy hops. The taste starts nutty with toasty with hints of toffee and hazelnuts. The end is grainy with a slightly bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel but very quaffable. Overall a good beer, easy drinking for sure...

Decided to revisit this style after a long hiatus, and wow. This is a good beer. Aroma was good. Roasted malt and earth. Pour was a nice dark brown with a two finger near tan head. Taste was delicious. Roasted malt and very earthy with a nice dry finish. Very refreshing for such a dark beer. Good carbonation round the beer out. Great beer all around.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 shhmoke (32) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Pours amber brown, small tan head that fades quickly. Aroma has some syrup and nuttiness. Taste is pretty straightforward and has some hints of chocolate with a little bitterness. At 4% it is a little weak for my liking.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cheap (3374) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 30, 2012
nice dark looking beer from a bottle. darker than most ’brown’ ales. Nice clean aroma and the intial taste is just a tad butter but it is very acceptable. Goes down easy, that 4% really makes this a rather enjoayable session. Friendly easy and mannered. I like this. No ill effects on the finish. Good amount of enjoyable co2. Overall good beer drinking experience. I’m starting to develop a likeing for these uinta brews.

Bottle... Poured typical brown with a moderate, lacy, eggy, light khaki head. Nose had some malt caramel sweetness along with roast and some nuttiness. Seemed on par for the style. Malty, sweet, nutty, light mouthfeel, and a quaffably low bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a very clear brown color with a moderate off-white head. Not a terribly strong nose on this. I get a hint of hoppy bitterness to the taste, but it’s subtle and is a fairly easy drink.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 BroSpud (1348) - , Massachusetts, USA - NOV 19, 2012
12oz bottle. Pours more red than brown with a thin tan head. Malty aroma, slightly sweet with not all that much going on. At first I was a bit disappointed but when you take into account it is only 4% ABV it has a surprising amount of flavor compared to others in this weight class.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Out of the bottle from Uptown. Pours a beautiful clear brown color with a small off white head that disappears quickly. Smeel is malty and nutty. Taste is the same with an interesting, lingering aftertaste. Not too bad for a style which I am not a huge fan of.
