COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No bristlecones were harmed in the production of this award winning beer. Deep chocolate brown and an amber head, Bristlecone Brown Ale is a seasonal beer and available for a short time. We chose the name as a tribute to the regal Great Basin Bristlecone pine. Among these stately survivors is the 4,765 year-old Methuselah, the oldest living inhabitant of North America. Its exact location is kept secret as an older relative nicknamed “Prometheus” was unfortunately cut down in 1964. This particular long-living species is typically found in the higher elevations of Nevada, California and Utah’s Wasatch Range. Due to cold temperatures, high winds, and dry soils, these pines grow very slowly.

Pours a nice clear caramel brown color with a moderate off-white head that stays around. Some nice lace on the glass as well. The nose is nutty with hints of chocolate caramel and biscuit with earthy and grassy hops. The taste starts nutty with toasty with hints of toffee and hazelnuts. The end is grainy with a slightly bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel but very quaffable. Overall a good beer, easy drinking for sure...

From a 12-oz bottle this pours a clear brown with copper overtones and a big tan head. The nose is roasted malts and nuts. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich roasted malts and the nuts continue into the finish which offers some floral hops. Quite tasty.

Bottle in Springdale, UT.

Brown pour, decent head. Nutty aroma with some yeast character. Gentle sweetness, flavors true to style, modest metallic notes. Not a bad example of not my favorite style. The 4% ABV doesn’t seem to do a great deal of harm here.
