Brewed in celebration of Uinta’s 20th Birthday, this American Sour Brown Ale flaunts significant acidity balanced by flavorful Abbey and Chocolate malts and a modest amount of hops. A distinct tartness on the palate combines with notes of toffee and earthiness.

Bottle. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate sour & sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sour & sweet flavor with a medium sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

750 corked n’ caged bottle, just over a year old- Pours hazy autumn orange with a one finger crackly white head that reduces quickly leaving a collar. The aroma is malty, caramel malts, tart and vinegar, dark fruits. The taste is pretty much the same, pretty tart, not a fan of the malts here, chocolate malts and caramel seem out of place, not sure if it’s because of the age or if it just tastes like this. The finish is the best part, that’s when all the sour funky flavors start to dominate really saving this beer. Decent

Reddish brown with a large off-white head. Aroma is baked apple, caramel. Tart on the palate, sticky mouthfeel, sour finish. Flavours are tart strawberries, fig, plums. Ok but a Lille lackluster.

Hog shack bottle share. Slightly hazy amber and big cap that quickly reduces. Aroma of sour fig, meat, very overripe cherry, earth. Taste is super sour. Not really deep.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Looks decent; a slightly cloudy gold with white lacing. Smells bready and mildly yeasty. Tastes Like a sour! Nothing like it smells like. Pleasantly tart with some lemon notes and a touch of earthiness. Enjoyable, and tastes much more robust and sour than it smells.

750ml bottle from La Primera in Andersonville. Cellared 2 months, but with a 3/27/13 bottle date. Pours a reddish copper with a white head with great retention. Aroma has a lot of stone fruits, earthiness and some oak. Tangy and funky. Taste is of cranberry, tart cherry, barnyard, some woodiness and funk. Light to medium bodied, tangy and tart. Finishes tart with hints of sweetness, and very earthy fruity. Just not as clean as would be ideal.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, clear light brown colour, aroma of barnyard, strawberry jam, dark chocolate and dark berries, flavour of chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and nuts, quite sour with a relativly light sweetness. Nice and pleasant.
