From the corked, caged 750 bottle. It is dated 07/27/14. I got it on clearance. The color is yellow with a huge foamy white head. The aroma is grains, fruity, butter, and a low hop profile but that is probably because this is an old bottle. Medium body. Bready taste mostly with muted hops and mild finish. I bet this was great a year ago.

Poured into a snifter. 4.25 A: Moderately hazed orange amber color. Two fingers of creamy beige head. Retention is good and tons of lacing is left. 3.5 S: This is the sweet and fruity version of the DIPA. Mango, pineapple, and apple are strong. Caramel sweetness with some graham cracker and breadiness. Strong neutral malt base. Rye gives some earthy notes. 3.5 T: Tastes like it smells. Big neutral malt sweetness, mix of tropical fruits, apple, and peach. Mild bitterness pokes through the sweetness. Caramel, toastiness, earthy rye. 3.75 M: Heavier body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy, smooth, with well hidden alcohol. 3.5 D: Solid beer. Give it a go if you like the barleywine-style DIPAs. ★ 715 characters DavoleBomb, Mar 28, 2014

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear light golden amber color, heavy white head, sprays of lace. Taste is malt that turns to tart fruity hops in the finish. An unusual brew, maybe a little past its "best by" date, and not enjoyable. Looks great, but looks aren’t everything.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma of pine, rye and citrus. Flavor was hoppy yet sweet with caramel, pine, bread, citrus and spicy rye.

Hazed copper-golden color with sudsy off-white head. Clean light hop character with a clean finish. Dry piney-hop aroma.

"Spicy rye and hop presence in both the nose and flavor. Pretty big body....medium to full ad juicy. Flavor is a bit malty but with more than ample hops and bitterness, spicy sweet."

Bottle from Z and Z. Pours a dark amber with a layer of tan head. Aroma of rye and floral hops. Taste of very nice amount of rye, just wish the citrus was pulled a bit more forward.

Bottle. Light to moderate roasted grain and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy orange, grapefruit and a hint of herbs for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with notes of date and wood. Head is large frothy/creamy turning rocky, off-white with excellent crisscross lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is slightly hazy dark amber/orange. flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a lively carbonation and finishes lightly astringent and a little boozy. A nice DIPA with a noticable amount od rye in the mix.
