Pours a nice amber color with all kinds of thick white head that hangs around. The smell has a hint of rye but mostly piney hops on the nose. at first sip, the hops arent nearly as demonstrative as the aroma would they have you believe. up front its all rye and its very nice with a nice citrusy hop on the finish. On the whole its an A+ brew

Bottle, caged and corked. Big-time pour, all around. Thick and oily, dark and rusty, with a big head. The aroma is both sweet and hinting at an oily, hoppy monster. This assaults the pallet at the first sip -- thick as a fresh loaf of bread, rich with rye and pumpernickel flavors, and a very noticeable Chinook presence. Big. (#5259, 9/19/2013)

Amber gold with a thick white head. Aroma is pine hops with a tinge of spice. Flavor is big, bold and hoppy with a strong rye presence in the malt. Big flavors, but decently balanced. There is a bit of a kick at the end from the alcohol. Wife: 4.3

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass Dark tannish orange with a thick cream colored head that reminds me of a pillow. Scent of piney orange. Flavor of malty citrus with a malty caramel. Finish was a sweet bitter resin. An excellent example of a Double Rye IPA.
