Amber gold with a thick white head. Aroma is pine hops with a tinge of spice. Flavor is big, bold and hoppy with a strong rye presence in the malt. Big flavors, but decently balanced. There is a bit of a kick at the end from the alcohol. Wife: 4.3

"Spicy rye and hop presence in both the nose and flavor. Pretty big body....medium to full ad juicy. Flavor is a bit malty but with more than ample hops and bitterness, spicy sweet."

Bottle from Z and Z. Pours a dark amber with a layer of tan head. Aroma of rye and floral hops. Taste of very nice amount of rye, just wish the citrus was pulled a bit more forward.

Bottle. Light to moderate roasted grain and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy orange, grapefruit and a hint of herbs for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with notes of date and wood. Head is large frothy/creamy turning rocky, off-white with excellent crisscross lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is slightly hazy dark amber/orange. flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a lively carbonation and finishes lightly astringent and a little boozy. A nice DIPA with a noticable amount od rye in the mix.

im not a big ipa person, but i have to admit rye tends to mellow out the harshness of the hops.

A very solid Rye IPA! As advertised, it is spicy, hoppy, yet incredibly smooth. Once again, quite impressed with Uinta’s Crooked Line. 750ml bottle : bottled 5.30.13 - holds up well.

750ml bottle. Unfiltered glowing orange-red body. Frothy, glass rimming off-white head. The aroma wasn’t that impressive, but I opened the beer more than 9 months after it was bottled. Some piny pine-sol rye hairspray action. Rich and big, with a pronounced Rye thing going on. Some IIPA tones of course, but mostly all about the oily, resinous Rye thing, which the chinook hops do complement. Pretty solid product. Burnt oily tones get to me after awhile. I’m just not so into 90% of Rye beers.
