3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear mahogany pour with a nice lasting cream head. Nose is brown sugar wood and booze. Taste has a lot of bourbon character. Booze, Burnt sugar, wood, and vanilla are prominent. Full body. Slight alcohol warmth on the way down. Almost too much bourbon.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Some sweetness. Malt presence. Alcohol aroma/ taste too strong. Good amount of oak/ bourbon flavor. Overall decent barley wine, but not worth trying again.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, as pictured. Poured a dark hazy brown, decent sized head. Smells of the barrel aging, little bit of vanilla, little bit of bourbon. Taste is heavy on the bourbon upfront but fades quickly. Not really the depth of flavor I was expecting. Heavy and warm, good beer but would’ve been better if the underlying barleywine was a little more flavorful.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Somewhat hazy dark amber with a thin and lasting light tan head. Incredible aroma of sugary lemon zest and light caramel notes. Flavor is very similar; lots of sugary lemon zest with a smooth caramalty undertone. Boozy malt undertone that still lets plenty of that lemony hop shine through.

Smooth rich pour, thick head not too big. Great aroma, flavor just keeps coming. A bit smoky, tart, never quits. Can sip this beer all night.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Corked Bottle from World Market. Bottled 7/10/13. Deep ruby in color. Nose is sweet with a good deal of hops and dark fruitiness. Good bit of wood and bourbon in the nose as well. Fairly sweet with a solid hop bitterness. A little bit of roasted maltiness in the background. Some bourbon and oak with a touch of vanilla. The finish is hop bitterness and some alcohol. A little hot, could be great in time.
