8/06/2011: Uinta Cockeyed Cooper Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine... Aroma: Really floral and earthy; tea leaves; citrusy syrup. Appearance: Honey-amber color; puffy beige head, lasting. Flavor: Deep caramel maltiness threaded with citrusy hops; moderate bitterness; not too strong on the bourbon flavor, but definitely packs A LOT of alcohol. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; very smooth; calm texture. Overall: This is a HUGE barley wine, but quite good.

This is a very good barleywine. Lots of dark fruit, some plum, vanilla, and wood. The bourbon barreling is evident.

Aroma is sweet vanilla oak aroma. Very nice. Head that last nice to look at. Bitter to taste sweetness probably best for aroma. But still excellent beer enjoyed a bit to bitter.

Pours a dark brown cola with a thinner head that is a frothy combination of small and large bubbles. Brussels lace clings on throughout. Aroma: caramel, nuts, herbs, dough, and some vanilla, smoke. Medium sweetness gives way to a heavy bitter flavor. Medium sour in the middle and surprisingly... salt. Bitterness over powers but still pleasant. Palate: FULL BODIED... Thick, soft, almost flat with a looooong finish. I actually down graded the palate wile typing. Overall this is a super strong product. Will definitely buy again.

On tap at Uno’s Hamilton during Philly Beer Week. I enjoyed this one more than Labarynth. Rich caramel, malt vanilla, oak and fruit. Delicious!

Pours without much head. Orange tinged nut brown color hints at richness. Requires some time to breathe after opening. Amazing complexity and flavor perhaps a result of three year old bottle.
