Clear light to medium amber red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is caramel, vitage, cask wood, toffee, moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [260908]

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very sweet wtih strong notes of over ripe fruits and prunes as well as medium notes of wood and light notes of bourbon. The flavor is very sweet with notes of over rip fruits, wod, and bourbon, towards the finish the bourbon becomes very powerful - too powerful for my liking. The alcohol burns the tongue.

From tap at Toronado, Barley Wine Fest 2010. Pours clear and deep amber to maghoni brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma is dark spiced and roasted malty with a dark toffeeish note. Bitter, overripe fruity and light spiced flavoured. Bone dry and bitter finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a clear warm orangey brown with no head whatsoever. Distinctly fat bourbon aroma. Quite full-bodied with nutty accents and hard roasted - almost burned - malt accents and a rather alcoholic finish. 180908

Bottled@SBWF2008. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, alcohol and some raisins + other very sweet notes. Flavour is coffee, alcohol, plum, raisins and some mild bourbon and wooden notes. Quite burning alcohol in aftertaste.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Mahogany colour, no head. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Sweet with plenty of molasses, bourbon and oak. Spicy and cramelly, a bit syrupy with lots of peppery warming alcohol. Treacle and bourbon linger in the finish.

Dark amber color with a magnificent red, mahogany hue, and a creamy head. The aroma is very nice, with vanilla and fruity hops, deep but balanced. Good body strength, without being overwhelming; very strong caramel flavor, some fudge and toffee, a bit buttery too (but this is probably the cask), with powerful hopping, that is also quite resiny; evident oak presence. Excellent.

Botlle. Nice creamy head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, alcohol, vanilla, malt and hops.
