COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launch into the exquisite flavors of bourbon with splashes of vanilla. Watch for currents of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Generous amounts of hops and malts make for a smooth journey from start to finish. Decadent desserts and aged cheeses make superb companions.

First batch 2010. Pours dark amber with an off white head. Aroma of alcohol and sugary malts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of caramel and spicy hops, with a dry oaky finish. Oxidation is at itís infancy on this one. This goes to show that you should never age BA beers.

Chocolate nut brown color. Frothy cream pale head. Medium body sweet ale. Sweet malt booze. Not tasting much oak. Brewed in salt lake city... huh. Wood barrel aged, not sure what kind of wood. Caramel, Oak? Not great as i hoped. Little nutty.

Bottle - Vinous, oak and nice mellow hops. Dark but clear mahogany with a rich beige head. Oak, bourbon, hoppy notes and a light cany booze. Nice and woody, the hops give it a distinct American flavor.

Sampled at esbls. Amber and pretty much clear. A big biting aggressive flavor. Big, even huge malts with complex fruit. Raisins. This is a nice English barleywine. Big and flavorful.

Bottle shared by Brian. Thanks brotha! Poured into a snifter. Dark hazy pour with slight oil texture. Medium eggshell head that lasted awhile. Aroma of prunes, raisins, dates, dark bread, spices, spices and vanilla. The taste was much the same as the aroma with the barrel and slight booze. However, not overly boozy for an 11.1%. Better and more aromatic as it warmed. Didnít get the dark chocolate as mentioned in the description. Medium to full body and moderate carbonation. Finish is dried fruit, slight booze, and anise.

Loads of cocoa and vanilla in the nose. Picking up some fruit too. Pleasantly not sweet on the tongue with a good oak character. Really nice surprise and a complex barley wine.

Murky brown pour with tan-tinted head that fades quickly. Aroma of alcohol, brown sugar, molasses, and dates. Flavor is more of the aroma, slightly dry woody notes, raisins and dates are prominent but overshadowed by alcohol, hint of vanilla.

F0BAB 2010: This p0ured a clear br0wn b0dy with a tan head. The ar0ma was pleasantly b00zy, caramel, citrus pulp, fruity. The flav0r was reflective 0f the n0se and added an earthy bitterness that increased in the finish. N0t bad at all.
