4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle of a 4 pack ($8.99) looks like a peach with foam in the glass. I was drawn to it by the Winston Smith like label art, and sold by the 9.5%, the fact that it tasted really good was just a bonus. If this one came in a 6 pack, I might be writing this review on my lap top from jail.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a murky orange-golden color with a short white thin layer on top. Sweet malt competes with orange citrus aromas. Full and a bit cottony in the palate. A lot of malt there, but less so than is noted in the nose. Citrus comes through evidently and with a notable harshness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Slight hazy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light pine hop nose and flavor is piney hops and caramel that is nearly balanced. Light hoppy aftertaste. Best by 8/15/14 but still tastes like a DIPA on 10/6/14. $3.29 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured cloudy, bright orange/copper in color, huge off white head and lots of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits, hops and caramel. Taste starts sweet, caramel and malts; boozy and a bit hoppy towards the end. Definitely a slow drinker but quite enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice head with great lacing. Very nice aromas of apricot and caramel. Wonderful caramel beginning with a great transition to bitterness and slight citrus and pine notes. A really nice DIPA.

Poured a medium rust with a tight, lacy head. Strong nose of hops that follow in the glass. A perfect early morning wake up IPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy orange under a foamy light ivory head with lots of lace. Pleasing aroma of orange citrus and earthy floral hop resins, perhaps a bit of pine as well. Bitter flavor that is almost balanced by a strong back of caramalt, but with tons of earthy and fresh hop resins, featuring pine and leafiness with a big semisweet orange zest hop tone. Big and leafy bitter with a little acidity, with a sweet orangy finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ruby copper pour with big tan head. Sweet tropical hop aroma. Sweet malt up front with apricot nectarine mango hop flavors. Big bitter hop finish. When the bitterness fades there is a sweet malt linger. Very enjoyable DIPA.

Uinta Detour DIPA doesn’t live up to hype for me. Dark amber pour with a thick tan head. Fairly strong fruity aromas are nice. The tropical fruit flavors start to come out in the taste but are quickly masked by a strong alcohol note and overly pine hop character and a bitter aftertaste. Detour is definitely not the best in the DIPA category.
