Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Nice presentation in the corked champagne bottle with wire cage. Appearance reminds me of clover honey, translucent orange gold and high viscosity. Fluffy, impermanent off-white head of small creamy bubbles. Sticky lacing. Surprisingly mild, sweet aroma; not as hop-forward as I would have expected. Crazy smooth. How is a double IPA this balanced? Especially with four varieties of hops. Maybe I have burned off my taste buds with hops. Not boozy or syrupy, although I am feeling its effects halfway through. Really decent stuff. A classic IPA with twice the girth.

750 mL. bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a dark orange color with a thick, pillowy off-white head that lasts with nice lacing down the glass. Citrusy aroma that is a little dampened with some malt in the background. Medium bodied, taste is nicely balanced. The hops and malt work well together. Sweet malt in the middle of the tongue and bitter hops on the sides. Strong citrus hop taste. Bitter finish.Nicely done!!!

sampled on Christmas Day, mild inviting aroma, rich color, lingering aftertaste, not the best IPA for my preference, but it has solid flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark golden color with solid foam. Classic hop profile, similar to their Hop Notch but a much stronger malt base due to the higher ABV.

On tap at The Yard House in Virginia Beach, VA. Dark orange pour with a creamy off-white head. Citrusy and floral hop aroma. The flavor is juicy tangerine with a light piney bitterness. Moderate detection of alcohol. Nice beer!

Balázs és Armando vittek a kalandba. A kinézetében nem tér el a testvéreitől. Illata déligyümölcsös, kicsit cefrés, melaszos és fenyőgyantás. Ízében ott vannak a déligyümölcsök aszalva, citrusok, zöld fűszerek, borókabogyó, szőlő, alkoholos édesség, sok komló. Elég testes és élő. Utóíze is igen gyümölcsös és száraz. Nagyon furcsa, de jó irányba az.

Damn good XXIPA. Burnt orange with 1-finger head and nice lacing. Big citrus nose with resiny full mouth/sticky taste/feeling.

750ml. bottle pours an almost clear copper/amber color with fluffy egshell white head that sticks around for a while. Aroma has lots of citrus hops and sweet malts. Mouthfeel is slick and a bit soapy, but with lively carbonation. Intitial taste is sweet, with a bitter and almost nutty finish, followed by the alcohol. Medium to full body. Not one of the greatest IIPAs out there, but I don’t regret trying it either.
