Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

750ml corked and caged bottle into a shaker glass; served cold. Aroma: Caramel malt hits first. There is a lot of flowery hop going on, but caramel is the dominant aroma. Appearance: Heavily hazed, near opaque orange-amber body with a thin cap of a head. Moderate lacing. Taste: Pine-y hops. A bit of caramel sweetness comes through. The hops aren’t abrasive and in your face; they’re gentle, but nice and bitter. Palate: Medium body with a short+ length on the finish that ends on a sort of caramel, butterscotch and hop flavor. Really nice. Overall: A fun one! Nice contrast between sweet malt and bitter hops. Tasty stuff.

Bottle. Amber with a white head. A bit of sweet citrus hop aroma. Really easy drinking with soft hop and a light malt.

Sampled out of a bomber. A nice crisp ipa with a pretty large hop palate. Well crafted.

Holy hops! I think this is to a tee what a double IPA should be. Floral, hop notes with hints of fruit. Not fruity with hints of hops. Great color. Nice on the tognue. One of my favorite IPAs on first taste, and that's a privlidged group.

Pours a hazy rust orange with thick white head. Has a citrus hop and malty aroma. Taste is strong upfront with malt and then a nice mix of caramel, pine, citrus hops, and some fruit. A bitter fruity hop aftertaste that lingers.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Grapefruit up front. Mellows into citrus and caramel on the finish. Boozy as it warms. Pretty darn good

Head starts off with large quantity of frothy foam from large bottle. Dissipates quickly with lots of lace. Very powerful malt and hop flavor with plenty of warming booze quality.
