3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Herbal, fruity hop aroma and flavor; plus, some spicy hop flavor. Sweet, grainy malt. Too sweet--but otherwise a nice flavor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 4/12/13. Pours a dark but transparent amber, with a foamy, long-lasting light-tan head. Aroma is sweet, dank, resinous...caramel and pine. Flavor is sweet, resinous, piny with some fruit elements in the sweetness. Moderately bitter finish lingers for a bit, with the bitterness becoming more pronounced. A really nice, resinous DIPA.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared 750 ml. bottle, and poured to snifters with a hazed, orange/amber hue, and some modest, off white head foam & spotty lacing. The aroma was some dank grain, citrus & resin, caramel, and malty sweetness. Medium bodied, the flavor notes were similar to the aroma’s, with still a decent hop bitterness & dryness for being approximately a year old. The alcohol presence, on the other hand, seemed to have waned a bit. Thanks, Craig!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the corked, caged bottle dated 02/27/13. It pours a beautiful bronze-amber with a tremendous, puffy off-white head that lingers. The aroma presents itself with floral hops but in a mild, mellow way. The body is medium to bold. The taste starts out with a slight malty character and develops swiftly into a hoppy one that ends slightly dry. The alcohol is well-integrated into the flavor. An IPA I could have often.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
I first have to preface everything by stating that this beer has a bottled on date of 6/11/12 and from my experience this style is best as fresh as possible. I purchased it from State Line less than two weeks ago and never expected it to be this old. I should have checked for a date but I digress.
Pours a VERY cloudy almost bronze color with ample head that dissipated quickly leaving substantial lacing. When I look closely I can see thousands of tiny particles floating around. Aroma is mainly roasted and caramel malts along with a hint of pine. Taste for the most part follows the nose and has some bitterness but it is evident that this beer has seen better days. Medium bodied with a sweet finish (something I don’t expect from this style).
I realize this beer would be much better fresh and I plan to try another at which time I will edit this review. Still, I don’t expect to rate it highly because I prefer the west coast style and this seems to be the opposite with the strong malt presence.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fairly straightforward DIPA, but with a nice long finish. Quite dry, but in a good way.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep reddish brown/mahogany with a thick tan head that dissipated to a solid film and left nice lacing. Pine hops were the strongest aroma with roasted malts clearly present. Big piney hops bitterness with a strong maltiness that lingered in the background. Medium body, light carbonation, smooth creamy mouthfeel, and a lingering caramel sweetness.
