COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Dark golden color with solid foam. Classic hop profile, similar to their Hop Notch but a much stronger malt base due to the higher ABV.

Draft at Yard house. First wiff smacks you with fresh hops. Notes of citrus and grapefruit hang around. Also get some pine. Taste brings out a strong malt backbone and an alcohol burn. Solid IIPA.

It poured a clear, bright amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus fruits, floral notes, biscuits, cereal malts and some tropical fruit notes. The taste was of a dry malt base with a hint of caramel then some hop bitterness, grapefruit, pineapple with some lingering hop bitterness through the finish. Nice.

Dark orange gold. Nose is big floral, citrus, and pine hops. Malty, but alcohol is well integrated. Balanced and not overly sweet or dry. Good with Indian curry.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark amber with a tight sudsy off white head that fades to a tight foamy film with plenty of lacing. Aroma has subtle hop presence with sweet caramel malt playing the field. Taste is sweet spicy bitter hops of pins spruce and caramel malt. Palate is medium sticky and crisp/dry. Solid, but not anything new in terms of pushing boundaries.

Pours clear orange / golden with a beige head, The aroma has lots of grapefruit, bits of pineapple, pine, dry caramel and crackers. The body is pretty rough with a bit of aggressive carbonation. The flavor starts with grapefruit zest, pine, woodiness and the caramel / crackery malt. The finish has a bit of sweetness and alcohol, but is still pretty hop forward with a rough and resiny sort of thing. Pretty solid.

First beer sampled on my beer wandering quest in the Deep South of America turns up a little on the underwhelming side of things. Well, its not that it’s a bad beer at all, it’s just the the ratings below mine -- with so many busting into the 4.0’s made me think this would be a beer that exceeded expectations. Nope. Clearly over rated. Despite this disclaimer, lets agree that this is an enjoyable DIPA. The hops are punchy but they lack the juicy resin that I often enjoy in the style. Malts in the front, hops in the back. Love the label, glad I tried it, just find the super high ratings hard to swallow.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear bright copper-colored dark amber, big frothy beige head, broken sheets of lace. Taste is assertive caramel malt that never gives in to equally strong hops on the swallow. As much as the hop presence grabs attention, so too does the caramel. A bold brew that never betrays its alcohol, except through the full bodied malt and hops. It is good enough to be dangerous on a long night.

Delicious aroma of apricots with a bit of floral tones. Taste is full of fruit with a touch of honey balanced by the bitterness of the hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home while in Jacksonville. Aroma is fruity, floral dank funky. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Sticky. Caramel, pine, light apple, orange, grapefruit... Pretty good, nice enough balance though still a bit sweet. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Hazy red pour with a small head that fades to a messy ring. Aroma is fairly dank and very fruity. Oranges, pineapple, flowers, light strawberry, and grass. Taste has a great balance of bitterness and juicy sweetness. Pineapple, blood oranges, light pine, and grass. Some light caramel and toffee malt. Solid DIPA.
