COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Definitely a double IPA living up to the imperial billing, I would say more of an imperial IPA than a double. Real rich, hops are nice, thicker than most double IPAs, if you like them thick and chunky this is for you. Pretty good but not my favorite....probably wouldn’t revisit.

12 oz. bottle from the brewery. Nice clear golden amber body with a foamy white head. Vegetal and grass hop aromas with some clean woodiness. Vegetal component follows right into the taste along with a bit of citrus pith bite. A bit of that tongue curling earthy bitterness settles in around the edges. Good caramel sweetness to help balance this bitterness. Ultimately, this bitterness gets a bit heavy but it’s still tasty. The alcohol is definitely in play here and possibly is adding to the bitter bite. Long bitter aftertaste. Nice to try something this strong after a lot of 4% Utah beers and I’m looking forward to my next trip there to try more! And I love the compass settings in the glass bottle!

Many thanks to Chris! Dark amber colour. Extremely malty sweetish beginning. Nice fresh and intense hops around, sticky pine, hints of caramel. A bit bitter till the end. Too sweet, nice intense hops. Round, nice.

Many thanks to Chris!! Pours a golden brown with a tan head. The smell is green hops, pine, caramel. The taste is dry and bitter with pine, caramel...a bit sweet. Medium in body with nice, fine carbonation. Bit too sweet for my taste.

I really like the way this one is built. I’m digging the big resinous, dank hops with a touch of grapefruit juice behind. Malts are full and rounded with a caramel sweetness but not over-stepping the hops at all - rather it stays at most semi-sweet to balanced, with plenty of hop resin coating the mouth leading to a long piney finish. Clean.

Deep copper. Dank nose of citrus and grapefruit with sweet caramel malt. Flavor is citrus rind bitterNess and more caramel sweetness. Big mouthfeel. Plenty of malt presence. A good, balanced IIPA.

Pretty good DIPA. Pours a slightly cloudy, copper-gold, with medium-sized head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is a bit boozy, with lots of sweetness, some pine and citrus from the hops, smooth, sweet finish. Not a bad example at all...
