Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Maybe little old by now and lost some zip from this bottle but good brew. Nice pine, and citrus aroma. Orange body with off white head that disapated rather quick. Good citrus sugary hop kick like a DIPA. Alcohol wears you down or I was just tied after work. Good beer

Good double IPA. Nice mouth feel. Not overbearing but wouldn’t want more than a pint or two.

A strong hoppy aroma coupled with a dry hops flavor. Full and a little strong, leaning to the dry side. Hints of grapefruit.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours clear bright reddish copper with very thin white head. Aroma is lightly sweet caramel malt and earthy oaky slightly floral hops. Taste is heavy rich caramel malt with mildly bitter hops on the back; earthy notes of pine and grapefruit jump out. Nice rich flavor overall, a little malt-driven for my tastes.

12 oz bottle, thanks brenn79! Aroma is fantastic for style, with pineapple, mango, cat pee, resin, garlic--very strong and unique, full of character. Pours clear copper with a large long-sustaining cream-colored head; leaves curtains of lace. Taste is nice, but it doesn’t live up to the aroma. Decent, overall.

Pours clear amber with an orange his and decent beige head. Aroma brings dank juicy sweet hops, suggestion of citrus. Flavor is sweet for sure, but balanced with pungent hops, orange and some zest, and and a bit of a dry ending.

Bottle. Pours dark orange with a fingers worth of frothy yellow head. Big pine and citrus nose, decent bitter hop bite. Caramel and earthy malt balances this out nicely but leaves enough lingering bitterness. Medium bodies mouthfeel. Very solid DIPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Franks with Vinny, Ryan, Alan, Barry and Bill. Pours a light amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and floral hop. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of light citrus fruits, flowers, malt, spice and light bitterness on the palate. Not bad, but kind of bland overall.

Bottle from a case I got at Frank Smith’s. Pours burnt orange to medium brown with some head that fades. Nose is tropical fruits, aldehydes, and malted barley. first sip is crystal malt, grapefruit and juicy fruits. finish is balanced with malt and hops.
