COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Fruity but tons of bready malt on the nose. A nice thin line of head. A solid double slap to the face of hops. Highly carbonated. I like it, I think as it warms the tastes will improve. The alcohol pulls thru just a hare too much.

12 ounce can from Corti Brothers in Sacramento, medium disappearing head, strong bitterness.

Bottle: Murky caramel color with a finger of sticky beige head. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is typical citrus and piney hops, plenty of sweet maltiness. Tastes moderately bitter and more sweet than typical for style. Citrus and piney hops, some dirty florals. Kinda reminds me of a fresh hop version that has meandered past fresh… good, but not quite what it could be.

Very good beer. A little sweet but had a great after taste and goes down super smooth. Highly recommended

Dark orange pour, super sticky off white head. Sweet malty aroma, orange zest and lots of pine, with subtle caramels. Sticky mouth feel, and good carb. Finish is highly bitter, sticky, chewy malts, slme caramels and lots of pine. An old school dipa.

12oz bottle. Sticky head of white lace clings to the glass and warns me of the super sticky mouthfeel to come. The aroma seems overly sweet - this much hop presence should leave it clean and refreshing instead of sticky and cloying. Not a double IPA that I will seek out again.

Bottle. Clear amber with a large pale beige head. Aroma of sweet dough, vague citrus, pine, over-ripe tropical fruit. 6-7. Very sweet and sticky. Heavy resinous bitterness hacks away at it and numbingly succeeds. Fruit flavors are not completely buried but have nowhere to move. Some overt alcohol.

Good, but not a top ipa for me. Pours a clear copper. Aroma is citrus and pine with some maltiness. Taste follows nose. Citrus and pine with some surprising sweetness. Finishes a little over bitter. I like bitter, even more bitter than this, but this bitterness does not seem to add to the beer.

Utah IPAs (even the doubles, imperials, etc) seem to really like the caramel malt backbone. This has a citrus and hoppy smell, but can smell some malt sweetness to it. The taste follows the smell. A bit of citrus, a bit of pine, then followed by caramel sweetness. Big mouthfeel. Ends with an IPA bitterness. Having trouble finding just a plain ol’ IPA in this state (as I like less caramel and sweetness when paired with spicy foods). This one, like the HopNosh were rated pretty high, but so far both of the Uinta’s I have had have not impressed me much.

Bottle. Semi hazy orange Amber beer with a large off white head. Aroma is spicy with notes of citrus, pine needles, alcohol, herbs, toast and oranges. Flavor is fruity with notes of citrus, pine needles, danky hops, herbs, oranges and pineapple. Somewhat over bitter.
