4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the corked and caged bottle a reddish coppery color with a thick head of meringue. The nose is full-on citrus rind and juicy citrus fruit with big dose of pine resin. The taste starts with pine resin and citrus rind. Pineapple and tangerine come next transitioning into a "bit o’ honey" caramel maltiness. The hops and pale malt flavors carry through to a moderately bitter ending. The 9.5% alcohol is actually pretty well restrained. One of my favorite double IPAs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance is a dark copper with half a finger of head. The head dissipates quickly but leaves some lacing behind on the glass. The nose is both piney and hoppy. The upfront flavor is a solid blend of malt and hops. The finish is not nearly as hoppy as top flight IPAs, but this still remains a solid effort. There is a touch of alcohol on the finish as well, but it is not too bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a dark red with a small white head. Aroma is caramel sweetness with citrus bitterness. Flavor is a decent hop but then that sweet caramel malt takes over. Finish is malt sweetness with a touch of bitterness. Another one of these double IPA’s where the malt far outpowers the hops. Probably better fresh but I’m rating the bottle I was given.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a dark gold-orange with a high, mixed-grain, cream-colored head. The nose -- which is a little suppressed by the copious foam -- is lime, floral, yeast, and fresh bread. Intensely bitter on the front of the tongue, with white grapefruit and rosemary notes; it’s somewhat hot on the back of the tongue and the throat, and there’s just enough caramel malt to keep it from being out of whack. Very dry finish. Quite intense.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Not much to add to what has been said. Aroma is citrus with grapefruit most obvious, pine resin, grass, toffee. Good retention with off white lacing. Slightly hazy deep gold color. Nice Big bitter front with fairly aggressive malt that give a nice sweetness. Mid range palate average carbonation. Overall I enjoy this one.

12oz can from The Hop Yard in Raleigh. Reddish-orange hue, murky clarity with mostly lasting white fizzy head. Decent lacing. Strong grapefruit and orange hop aromas. Strong citrus grapefruit hop taste up front with more of the same finish. Fizzy on palate, good mouth feel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 21, 2015 12 oz single bottle from Molly’s Spirits. Deep amber and light hazy appearance with a sticky white head. Aroma of melons, oranges, pine, resinous hops, sweet malts and light caramel/toffee. Similar flavor, big resinous hops, medium to heavy bitterness with a moderate malt sweetness in the middle. Medium to full body with a light syrupy feel and a lingering bitter finish. Not bad by any means, but I rarely find myself enjoying this style these days. Pairing: Hot Buttered Rum - Busted in Utah
