COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

12oz picked up at the COOP a few nights ago... Poured into my fancy new Teku... long lasting meringue like head... the brew is pretty clear orange... fantastic lacing. Nose is huge tropical fruitiness... grapefruit zest and melon.. thick and coating hoppiness... smells a bit too malty for my preference, but that is a personal complaint, this has a pretty fantastic aroma. Flavor is mirrors the nose effortlessly... sorta oily.. ABV is present, but not out of whack for the style. Body is medium with a lighter than normal carbonation that makes for a pretty coating mouthfeel.

Pine, grapefruit, melon, bubble gum hops and caramelized red malt. Fiery alcohol, cloying sweetness, brutish bitterness. Medium-full body, rich mouth feel, soft carbonation. Sawdust / pine sap finishing notes.

750 ml bottle from Premier Gourmet. Pours a lightly hazed orange/amber with dense eggshell-coloured head. Aroma is earthy, modestly catty and citrusy with caramel maltiness. Flavour has dank hoppiness with notes of resin and citrus, and a strong malt backbone. Moderate bitterness in finish. Pretty big bodied. Low-medium carbonation. Nice.

Good double IPA. Nice mouth feel. Not overbearing but wouldn’t want more than a pint or two.

12oz bottle pours an amber color without much head. Broad strong hoppy bitterness. Easy going.

A strong hoppy aroma coupled with a dry hops flavor. Full and a little strong, leaning to the dry side. Hints of grapefruit.

Golden orange pour, good head and lacing. Nice hoppy head. Finishes bitter and boozy. On tap at DC Beer Festival.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours clear bright reddish copper with very thin white head. Aroma is lightly sweet caramel malt and earthy oaky slightly floral hops. Taste is heavy rich caramel malt with mildly bitter hops on the back; earthy notes of pine and grapefruit jump out. Nice rich flavor overall, a little malt-driven for my tastes.

12 oz bottle, thanks brenn79! Aroma is fantastic for style, with pineapple, mango, cat pee, resin, garlic--very strong and unique, full of character. Pours clear copper with a large long-sustaining cream-colored head; leaves curtains of lace. Taste is nice, but it doesn’t live up to the aroma. Decent, overall.

Pours clear amber with an orange his and decent beige head. Aroma brings dank juicy sweet hops, suggestion of citrus. Flavor is sweet for sure, but balanced with pungent hops, orange and some zest, and and a bit of a dry ending.
