COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Draft. Ordinary hop aroma with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Just a hint of complexity in a disappointing double. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet and boozy, but pretty smooth dipa. Dark amber color. Resinous pines, caramel malts, and a heat all present. Still a nice creamy body. Pretty solid.

Dangerously smooth, this is the kind of beer that gets me in trouble. Super tasty, ridiculously chuggable, high ABV, balanced extremely well particularly considering itís a DIPA. Would recommend to a friend. Hell yeah Uinta, yet another winner.

Nice amber body with thin head. Really super hoppy taste with caramel notes. Sharp, sweet, malty flavours. Caramel in there and sugar sweet. Really nice and full-bodied beer.

High bitterness, but with enough malt to balance it. Slight grapefruit notes. Somewhat floral.

Pours a clear golden copper with a nice white head that settles to a thick ring with good lacing. Aroma of fruit nectar with a caramel malt sweetness and a bit of pine and alcohol. Taste is very similar with mango and fruit nectar and moderate caramel sweetness. Pine and alcohol flavor come in at the end with a small amount of spiciness. Finishes mostly dry with a moderate level of piney bitterness. Mouthfeel is semi sticky with a medium/full body and somewhat lively carbonation. More sweetness than I like in my IPAs.

Bottle. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma and taste of pine, bitterness, caramel, malts, some citrus.

2015 bottle. Pours a nice clear amber color with a tan head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with some tropical fruit. Taste is sweet up front with caramel and malt. Over ripe mango. Finishes with an intense pine and herbal bitterness with lots of spice. Pepper and a hint of clove. Full body with an acerbic finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad. The taste lingers a bit to long but it has nice aroma and a descent taste. Worth trying

12 oz. bottle from the brewery. Nice clear golden amber body with a foamy white head. Vegetal and grass hop aromas with some clean woodiness. Vegetal component follows right into the taste along with a bit of citrus pith bite. A bit of that tongue curling earthy bitterness settles in around the edges. Good caramel sweetness to help balance this bitterness. Ultimately, this bitterness gets a bit heavy but itís still tasty. The alcohol is definitely in play here and possibly is adding to the bitter bite. Long bitter aftertaste. Nice to try something this strong after a lot of 4% Utah beers and Iím looking forward to my next trip there to try more! And I love the compass settings in the glass bottle!
