COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep orange with a thick, foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, sweet malt, light fruits. Flavor of sugary caramel malt, lots of rich malt. Meh, just not very tasty without the typical citrusy, hoppy notes. More of a barleywine than IIPA in my book. 6/4/5/3/12 [3.0/5]

Many thanks to Chris! Dark amber colour. Extremely malty sweetish beginning. Nice fresh and intense hops around, sticky pine, hints of caramel. A bit bitter till the end. Too sweet, nice intense hops. Round, nice.

Many thanks to Chris!! Pours a golden brown with a tan head. The smell is green hops, pine, caramel. The taste is dry and bitter with pine, caramel...a bit sweet. Medium in body with nice, fine carbonation. Bit too sweet for my taste.

I really like the way this one is built. I’m digging the big resinous, dank hops with a touch of grapefruit juice behind. Malts are full and rounded with a caramel sweetness but not over-stepping the hops at all - rather it stays at most semi-sweet to balanced, with plenty of hop resin coating the mouth leading to a long piney finish. Clean.

This double IPA brings the pain. Its wonderful and the aroma has hops waffing out for weeks.

Deep copper. Dank nose of citrus and grapefruit with sweet caramel malt. Flavor is citrus rind bitterNess and more caramel sweetness. Big mouthfeel. Plenty of malt presence. A good, balanced IIPA.

Pretty good DIPA. Pours a slightly cloudy, copper-gold, with medium-sized head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is a bit boozy, with lots of sweetness, some pine and citrus from the hops, smooth, sweet finish. Not a bad example at all...

Thought their regular IPA was pretty good; hoping the DIPA is nice also. Here we go. Sweet, piney, even slightly cheesy aroma; bit sharp for my liking. Flavor is sweet, resinous, and quite onion and catty as well. Ugh. Some good elements here, but it’s too overpowering. Definitely not a fan of IPAs, double or otherwise, with cheesy, onion, catty elements. I’ll stick with their regular IPA.
