Deep dark brown with a tan, lacy lasting frothy head. Smells of deep roast with chocolate, deep sweet malt, and a raisin. A bit of bourbon. Full oily silk body. Amazing. Tastes of sweet chocolate with malt, nice roast, raisin, with a hint of alcohol, lots of roast with a smooth barley taste. An excellent brew and the best of this evening.

Wow this thing is all over the place but in a very good way. Pours a thick black with a deep tan head. Aroma is full of roasted malts and Belgian candied sugar. Sweet and roasty. Taste bubbles up on your tongue and leads off with a Belgian quad and mid way through shifts with a hint of licorice and into an imperial stout with just a hint of bourbon oak on the finish. Great great stuff.

Bottle from July 2011. Pours thick and black with a caramel brown head. Big chocolate aromas - brownies with chocolate syrup. Also toffee, wood, burnt toast, and slight raisin and dried fig. Taste is roasty, coffee and dark chocolate, wood, toffee, hints of vanilla and cola. Moderate bitterness. Full and smooth palate. A bit of alcohol burn but it’s mostly felt, not tasted, after sitting in the bottle for 2.5 years. A nice big beer to enjoy slowly.
