Bottle. Pours a pitch black body with a massive light beige rocky head of considerable longevity. Aroma is cold coffee, leather, licorice, hints of freshly cut grass, dark berries and pine. Taste is coffee, pine, licorice, leather and hints of dark malts, dark berries and milk chocolate. Full body, soft to medium carbonation. Although a bit off the regular style profile for a Baltic Porter as far as Iím concerned, a pleasant porter from Uinta all in all.

Tap. Pours opaque black with a large brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee. Flavor is the same plus chocolate and a bit of wood, perhaps a touch of vanilla. Medium sweet, light bitter, light woody astringence. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice, but not a lot of taste from the barrels

750ml c&c bottle from Canalís EHT. Poured a deep black body with an average sized beige foamy head. Aroma is okay, sort of dusty, notes of vanilla beans, dry chocolate powder, some chocolate swyrup, wet dark toast, burnt malts, wood and some bourbon. Palate is okay, foamy body with a medium mouthfeel. Flavor of dry chocolate, light vanilla, some wood, hint of bourbon, dry dark toast. Overall meh, expected more from Crooked Line series.

Pours deep dark brown with a good sized dense tan head. The aroma has cocoa, roasty malt, oak, cream, dark caramel, mild duds and a nice smooth richness to it all. The body starts quite smooth with frothy carbonation and this gets a light bit rough. The flavor begins with the aroma notes, but has more bitterness to the roast, some earthy hops, cocoa, mild vanilla and cacao nibs. The finish has a touch of bourbon and a smooth warming affect. Excellent beer.

Draft @ The Ale House in Amesbury. Pitch black with lasting tan head that laced the tulip until finish. Aroma is chocolate, oak and light coffee. Taste is chocolate, vanilla and mild espresso notes. The oak is very light and subtle in this brew. Hints of molasses and sugar. Some burnt malts. Body is more on the full side with a drier smooth semi-sweet finish. Itís really good. Just falls short of being great. Well worth a try if you ask me. I would order this again in certain circumstances.

Charred oak, coffee, and prune nose, with an emphasis on the latter. Black, thin tan head. Prune and charred oak flavor, maybe some fudge. Medium bodied, smooth, and drinkable.Alcohol only noticeable on the back end and not excessive. No bourbon detected, which is a plus for me. Fairly simple, but solid.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home on Christmas eve. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of roasted nuts. Flavors of oak, vanilla, bourbon and smoke. Medium to heavy bodied, high carbonation, bitter roasty finish.

750ml bottle - $12.99 at Bullockís Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.

Bottled On: 11/21/12.

Appearance: Pours an onyx black body with an initially tall, tan head, though it collapses fairly soon.

Smell: Fudge, carob chips, flecks of charred malt. Then, some vanilla and oak from the barrel. Light, leafy touch from the hops. Hint of foiled dark fruits, a bit of musty, funkiness cut from razor thin sniffs of alcohol.

Taste: Bittersweet chocolate, carob, and some slightly burnt malt hinting at espresso start. Medium-light sweetness. Slight, somewhat subtle vanilla and oaken elements from the barrel treatment. Thereís a very, very light but noticeable funkiness for me, giving it a faintly sourish backing. Soiled dark fruitiness. Mild hop character, very low bitterness. Warming, chary, chocolaty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation, initially. Smooth, as it glides across the tongue, but thereís ample suds all the same (initially, at least).

Overall: A decent sipper. I think I like it. I think?

Rated on 9-14-2013 at Fort Wayne, IN RateBeer gathering (Corked and caged bottle and bottled on 11/27/2012). The appearance is a small head with a lengthy retention, opaque dark brown body and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is lightly roasted, malt, chocolate, dark fruits, and some alcohol. The flavor is dark fruits, chocolate, malt, and alcohol. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A most quaffable sipping beer that would make for a good cold weather beer. It is a beer worth trying.
