Complex and drinkable, Sea Legs delivers flavors of roasted malt and chocolate. Sea Legs was aged in Bourbon Barrels for nearly 12 months adding toasted vanilla and bourbon notes to the flavor profile. This Medium-bodied Baltic Porter has a complex malt profile and mild hop bitterness. With a hidden ABV of 8%, Sea Legs is a siren of a beer.

On tap at 33 West. I didnít have high expectations as Uinta has been pretty mediocre for me in the past, but I wanted a stout/porter and this was the most interesting option on the menu. Anyway, dark pour with a small frothy head. Chalky, milky aroma. Rich cocoa and milk flavor. Not much bourbon at all (? Which isnít necessarily a bad thing). Mild fruitiness. Lots of coffee and roast. I liked it.

A dark tea pour creates a black body with mahogany highlight at the stem of the glass, a tall two inch, frothy-smooth, light khaki head creates globs of erratic islands and peninsulas of lace

Well integrated aromas and flavors of robust chocolate-coffee fused with mellow marshmallow, vanilla, black tea, char, graham cracker, citrus, blueberry juice, raisins, dark cherry, almonds, caramel, faint bourbon notes and heat, all on a creamy, pillowy, coating medium body with tickling carbonation amplifiying the subtle spirit heat, a creamy-tacky residual offers the previously mentioned components over a solid drying influence with an oaky hue, medium duration with dark chocolate and coffee hanging on until the final moments while nuances of marshmallow and graham cracker swirl around, a touch of tobacco with dark chocolate smoors dipped in coffee

I was initially a bit underwhelmed with the intensity, yet am very much enjoying the well balanced robust-rich-dry complexities this offers as a result of the controlled components, especially as this warms into the 60ís, another very solid beer from Uinta

Pours deep dark brown with a good sized dense tan head. The aroma has cocoa, roasty malt, oak, cream, dark caramel, mild duds and a nice smooth richness to it all. The body starts quite smooth with frothy carbonation and this gets a light bit rough. The flavor begins with the aroma notes, but has more bitterness to the roast, some earthy hops, cocoa, mild vanilla and cacao nibs. The finish has a touch of bourbon and a smooth warming affect. Excellent beer.

11/22/12 750ml bottle. Pours a near black with a thin, tan head. Aroma has great notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, slight dark fruits, coffee, licorice, molasses, and peanut shells. Taste is balanced with awesome notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, and a lingering, slightly smoky ending. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a bone dry finish. Overall a great beer. Smooth roast, coffee, slight dark fruits, and a long finish.

750ml bottle, shared. Black color, good thin light brown head, leaves great full lace. Some chocolate, toasted malts, maybe some tobacco in the nose. Lightly smokey, toasty flavor. Again with the herbal, and tobacco notes. A bit less heavy on the dark fruit than other baltic porters can be, and I personally prefer that. Good roasty malts, solid bitterness, light sweet. Nice roasty chocolate aftertaste, just a hint of dark fruit, good light bit of smoke. Bigger body, smooth lighter carbonation, dry finish. Influence from bourbon barrel is subtle - not immediately obvious, but vanilla and wood flavors are noticeable. though no boozy heat. A nice balance. I think this is well done.
