Aroma is grainy malts and a hint of mustiness. The flavor is mild grain sweetness, citrus, hops and a lasting tartness in finish.

Pours a bronze color with a booming off-white head that sheds some thick lacing. The aroma smells bready, medicinal, and somewhat zesty, with orange blossom, lemon scented dishwashing detergent, flowers, saaz hops, cough drops. This is smoother than expected, or as the aroma suggests. The medicinal notes, which are strong in the scent seem to take a back seat here but don’t completely disappear. Lots of sweet bread, herbal hops, and some caramel flavors noted. Perhaps sweet hay and grass too. After buying this, I see that the bottle is a little old. Maybe not a bad thing if it’s toned down. A bit dry and bitter in the finish but the sweetness prevails. Could stand to be lower in alcohol but I generally feel that way about any Pilsner approaching 7% or so. Not a bad beer though, just not one I’ll need to revisit.

Bomber. Recommended by Hop City but ratings here made us reluctant to get it out from the beer fridge. Looking for a good summer food pairing. Hop City was spot on because we really liked this one.Served with salmon burger and pasta salad Nice aroma. . Nice caramel malts, not particularly bitter hops. First taste reminiscent of a great ripe summer tomato.

Nice fresh clean flavors here - with the sweetness of an ipa which makes this better than just a pilsner. Silky, draft-like palate is especially nice - slightly creamy finish.

14th August 2010 Clear light gold beer. Little white head. Light semi dry palate. Creamy semi dry lagerish malt. Sweet, almost tripel like, fruits - peach, apricot. Minerals. Finishes semi dry. Hides it’s 9.0% very well. Pils - Tripel hybrid? Best when fridge cold.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ACHops (282) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2012
On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours translucent golden with thin lasting head. Aroma is light hops and some corn. Taste is thin, earthy hops that lead to a bitter finish. Malt flavors are big but muddled and ultimately overwhelmed by the alcohol, which is obvious. Harsh. Different but not easy to drink.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 PhillyCraft (1971) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Bottle, poured a clear golden color. Notes of lemons, hops, biscuit. Taste had tons of heat, the 9 percent on this beer is very present. Taste of floral but spicy hops, lemon zest, pepper, well carbonated pils. Not bad.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2012 The biggest Pilsner I’ve ever had, and possibly the best (coincidence, right?). Pours slightly copper, big head. Nose is much bigger than a pilsner typically, very hoppy. It’s then got the super thin body of a pils (well at least as this as possible at 9%) and a big pile of hops. Describing this as a lagered imperial IPA might help.
