Into Guinness glass (best available). Strong gold color with a medium-thick white head that dwindles in a minute or two. Warm, alcohol, sugary sweet aroma, but pilsner undergirds the whole thing. Some green bottle lager candy to it. Flavor is very sweet--missing the hoppy bite of a pilsner, pretty much entirely. Some Saaz comes through eventually, but I want more. Mouthfeel is syrupy in the back, but trying for that characteristic snappiness on the edges. This was bottled a year ago (7/26/10). Not sure how long it’s supposed to keep. May have to try this again fresh.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours translucent golden with thin lasting head. Aroma is light hops and some corn. Taste is thin, earthy hops that lead to a bitter finish. Malt flavors are big but muddled and ultimately overwhelmed by the alcohol, which is obvious. Harsh. Different but not easy to drink.

Sawdust itch of a nose with no notion of the ABV hidden within a similarly dusty yellow body and stern off white head. A zipline of the Saaz hops on the initial taste before a really smoothly defined Pilsner landing for the palate. Too much of the flavour crumbles away on the finish, some threads of nutmeg and lemongrass.

A tough ask for a light tasting, big ABV brew that doesn’t quite keep it’s balance to the finish line. A sterling effort nonetheless Bottle, Krishma’s Tasting, Edinburgh

Sweet, herbal, fruity aroma. Very sweet flavor -- too sweet. Some herbal, spicy hops.

Pours clear golden with a soft, thick but dissipating white head and some lace. Aroma is of citrus and floral hops, sweet malts, fruits and spices. A strong presence of the sweet malts in the taste, with a fair amount of hops on the back end, some fruits, alcohol and tartness. Fairly impressive for my first Imperial Pilsner.

Nice fresh clean flavors here - with the sweetness of an ipa which makes this better than just a pilsner. Silky, draft-like palate is especially nice - slightly creamy finish.

Aroma is light spicy european hops with a hint of cereals and light grain. Appearance is clear fizzy yellow with a nice head. Taste is light hops and light malt, alcohol is well hidden. Palate is think and drinkable. Overall I was really surprised. There isn’t a lot of whallop here in terms of flavor or aroma but it is just a pils and it goes down like one despite the ABV.

750ml Bottle purchased from Beercraft. Pours a yellows brown color. Alcohol taste is very prominent.

Meh. Boring. Doesn’t feel like 9%. Feels like a typical light beer. I got suckered by the "Imperial". Sure the word doesn’t really mean anything anymore, but here it is misused. There is nothing imperial about this beer. It is dull and boring. The insipid cartoonish label should have tipped me off. This beer is weak.

From bomber. Pours a somewhat cloudy bright gold with a small white head. Aromas of sweet corn, spice/herbs, grass, orange dominate. Sweet cereal malts, orange, hay, corn round out the flavor. ABV is hidden well as the beer is smooth with a light/medium body. Sweet finish with a little breadiness and hops at the tail end.
