This is a slightly misleading beer at first whiff. Then with a look at the stuff, followed with a draught - you know youíre in the presence of greatness. This stuff for a smokey brew, no question, is also very drinkable! Smoke beers are not my thing, but Iím having a hard time keeping my mitts offa this brew. The malt sweet to smoke is a thing of beauty.

Pretty good but Iíd love to see this in smaller bottles. Whew that was a lot of sweet smoky lager. Flavor was like a nice smoky campfire, and smoky smoked sausage. Flavor similar smoke and meat, savory, but also very sweet with toffeeish melanoidin malts. Initially effervescent, it seemed to lose liveliness quickly (I didnít nurse it) and was fairly flat, sweet and dull/heavy on the palate by the end of the 750. Poured initially with a nice head but subsequent pours lacked foam. Pure amber color.

Bottle. Pours a transparent golden with a super thin layer of creamy off white head. Aroma and taste of smoked meats, slightly malt forward with hints of hops.

Absolutely wonderful smoked beer. The smokiness is there and plentiful, but it enhances the base lager without overpowering it. Recommended.

great smoked aroma. In taste is a bit less palpable, but still ok. Itís a good one, but not much better, if at all, than polish smoked craft beer.

Bottle shared at the KoBB meeting. Light golden pour with a big white head. Aroma is smoke, beef, and roast. Taste is almost sweet and sour, a little more beef, and smokey finish.

750ml corked bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a large white head and leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma of a campfire cookout! Smoky burning cherry wood, grilled meats, hickory, caramel. The smell of late summer/early fall. Taste is smoky goodness right up front and center. Taste is the equivalent of what burnt hickory and cherrywood smell like. Strong smoked meats flavor here too, specifically smoked sausage. I swear I can even taste the barbecue sauce. Under that there is a great caramel malty base. Maybe even a hint of bitter hops. Long finish of smokiness and maltyness. Light medium bodied, slick texture, fair carbonation. This may be the perfect beer for a nice September or August autumn night when there is a slight chill in the air and the leaves are just starting to turn colorful. And itís not so bad when the tempature is in the teens and there is snow and ice covering everything, as I am discovering.

Bottle: Cloudy, golden sunshine aroma, slightly orange with a really foamy eggshell cap that slowly recedes, retains for a while, & leaves some splotchy lacing behind. Aroma is heavy of liquid smoke, semi-sweet with campfire undertone. Light hint of smoked sausage, charred hickory, toasted crackers, & grain. Flavor hits with more sweet smoke, a light meaty essence & a big campfire closer. Heavily toasted grains, light earthy & woodsy bitterness, & a strong, bready finish. Sweet smoke lingers into the aftertaste. Medium bodied. A really nice smoked lager.

@ Eddan 15-2-14: stora tydliga röktoner och sälta i doften. Smaken har en lenare röksmak med en aning syrlig efterton. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Sample at a tasting event. Not my thing, tasted way too much campfire and smoked meat.
