A moderately smoky aroma. Slightly smoky yet has a good hop flavor. Not at all dangerous to drink. Beer with too much smokiness, I can do without but think that they have succeeded in this. Fine moderate bitterness which lies down most of the tongue’s upper part to a weak moment. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a large rocky white head. Aroma is red berries, mild smoked meat, straw, hints of white chewing gum and faint water melon. Taste is smoked chestnuts, dried meat, straw and hints of pale malts and bread. Medium body and carbonation. Smooth, well-balanced and highly drinkable rauchbier with a saison-ish touch from Uinta, which have made a pleasant first impression on me.

Explosive, off white head, 4 fingers plus with plenty of lace. Medium gold pour. Nose is smoke; sweet and spicy. Bitter. Middle is soft creamy malt and light smoked meat. Finish shows slight citrus sweetness and smoke. Delicious beer.

Quite smokey with what I’d guess is a Helles base. Not overbearing amounts of meatiness, pretty drinkable for the style. Tasty but I probably wouldn’t buy again because I had trouble finishing half a bottle.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Smell of roasted meat, burnt wood and some fruits. Pours a hazy pale amber colour with a rich beige head. Taste is sweet and smokey. Some subtle hops, meat and burnt oak. A rich palate which lingers nicely to the taste buds. Overall a good beer and one of the better smoked beers I’ve had, definitely worth a try.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours hazy pale amber with a rather big frothy and bubbly offwhite head that leaves lots of spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly smokey with rustic dark bread, biscuits, smoked meats, moist hay, burnt wood, brine, clay, butterscotch and hints of lemon zest. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, slightly malty and smokey with sourdough bread, cured ham, smoked sausage, moist hay, steamed vegetables, burnt wood, butterscotch hard candy and hints of lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, tiny bitter, tiny malty and smokey with sourdough bread, smoked sausage, moist hay, burnt wood, lemon zest, fennel and hints of butterscotch hard candy and persimmon. Solid smoked lager…

Aroma of sourish, ashy smoke like campfire is high humidity. Light, hazy orange-copper appearance. Smokey, bitter spicy flavor that is also very sweet for contrast. Medium weight body with a palate cutting presence of a much hoppier beer. As good an American smoked beer as there is.

Corked and caged 750mL bottle pours with a crystal clear copper body that has golden hues and supports a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up slivers of mild smoke, a sweet malt to wheat note followed by a modest degree of apple to pear like fruity esters. The taste begins with an apple like flash of fruit ester sweetness and then it leads quickly to modest smooth smokiness. The fruity esters create a bit of an out of place sensation as i struggle to find and enjoy the mild smokiness going on here. I guess I was expecting more smoke to help pull in the sweet fruity esters.

kerenmk (2199) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JUL 4, 2014
Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks DSG. Hazy amber with white head. Smoky-bacon-flavoured-snack aroma with some onion powder, smoky taste, a little skunky sourish undertones, then some bitterness. Rather light-bodied, oniony finish, fairly carbonated.

Bottle from Systembolaget. A bit hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma and tatse of smoked ham, some wood and malt. On the sweet side with a medium mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and failry easy to drink.
