COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

A: Pours a typical golden amber color with average clarity and a fairly vibrant color. An aggressive pour yielded a three finger offwhite color head with average retention and solid lacing. The head retains a lot more strongly away from the inside of the glass. S: The hops lead the way here, there’s a blend of tropical fruits such as mango and passion fruit, some floral notes, and a bit of pine. Hiding behind the hoppiness is a subtle malt backbone. T: The hop profile on the opening sip is primarily floral/piny in nature - I can tell this one uses Centennial hops. This is a fairly fresh bottle (about 30 days old), so the aforementioned hops haven’t degraded to the point where they start tasting soapy. This hop bitterness washes away near the finish to reveal a pleasant caramel maltiness and only a slight hint of butter, giving it a solid (if not amazing) balance. All in all, this is a typical IPA, just done well (and fresh!) M: Slick bodied, with only minor dryness in the finish. Not quite a palate killer, though you can still feel some lingering bitterness on the tongue. O: Very solid IPA, but beware that it behooves you to drink it fresh. I got this for a solid price ($9/6 pk.), but I don’t know if this would be a go to IPA for me. Still pretty damn good regardless.

Tap @ Pine Box. Clear gold pour with an off-white head with great retention and leaving heavy lace. Nose is fruity and citrus hops. Medium body and light, fine carbonation. Resin, toast, grapefruit. Finish is medium and bitter. After a great start, this one becomes pretty average.

(from notes just found) On tap at Pacific Standard. Pale golden with nice head. Grapefruity aroma with hint of mint. Mild sweet fruity apricot with grapefuit and rind and somewhat off-putting aftertaste. Pretty good.

Draft at the Pine Box. Pours a clear golden with a scant tan head. Plenty of steadily rising carbonation. Nice fragrant balsa wood and pine cone nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Reedy, woody mid palate. Toasty. Approachable and clean and refreshing, but unremarkable despite not having any big flaws.

Bottle. Appearance: Pours a light caramel color with a soft white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma: Caramel malt, honeysuckle upfront with hints of floral hops. Taste: Bright hops, pine, lime and caramel and honey malt. Palate: Bold yet smooth, great bitterness from the hops, nice balance with the malt.

Wonderful inviting floral and fruity aroma. Tastes hoppy up front, wet, juicy with a touch of dryness setting in halfway thru. Not too bitter, a wonderfully flavorful easy drinking ipa that's easy on the palate. Absolutely fantastic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden yellow. Aroma of ripe green hops. Saaz or other Noble variety. Taste is candied sugar with a slow building peppery spice to balance the sweetness that still wins out in the end. I haven't had an IPa with these hops before. Very interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yeah! Now we’re talking. Nice pine / hop nose. With a good orange peel and grass taste. The brew was blended well with caramel malts. Yeah Boy!
