COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Herbal/grassy, piney and slightly flowery aroma, medium yellow/orange with a small white head. The aromas march directly into the flavor along with a nice light candy/honey sweetness that offsets the significant bitterness surprisingly well. That bracing bitterness really kicks in on the tongue and the back of the throat in a good way. Although this is definitely a hop lovers beer, it’s quite easy drinking for an IPA at this level.

A clean, yet mildly hazed sunny apricot body supports a tall, resilient, off-white cool-whip head creating several dense horizontal lines of lace with intricate extensions filling the gaps above a thick ring and solid cap

Inviting, mildly rich aromas and flavors of grapefruit, mango, lemon rind, lime, and soft grass with minty accents and sweet biscuit malt on a silky, cohesive, creamy medium weight body with a lightly spicy herbal-citrusy, bitter-sweet finish and residual working towards creamy fruit juice, guava, very nicely balanced with vivid hop characteristics

12oz bottle about a week after Kansas roll-out served at 45º into Stölzle IPA Glass

This does not reach the level of hop-noxious as some of my hop-licious favorites, but strikes a very reasonable balance that will satisfy both the regular beer lovers and the hop heads, like me. I love this beer. The malt flavor is outstanding and high nuff octane for high Gravity enthusiasts! Thank God Utah has seen the light. We all agree w Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be Hoppy"!

Pours clear copper with a large off-white head. The aroma has pineapple, mango, sweet malt, orange, caramel and really nice balance. It has a medium body that is ultra smooth and then has some pretty prickly rough carbonation at the end. The flavor starts with citrus zest, caramel, pine, woodiness, crackers and some spice. The finish is dry and has lots of woody / earthy / tropical hoppy notes. Really nice IPA.

12 oz bottle. Hazy orange amber with a dense white head. Pine, grapefruit, and apricot aromas. Pine, grass, orange peel, tropical fruit, a little bubblegum. Slightly bitter finish, smooth. Nice balance with the malts, pretty good.

Clear, medium gold, tall head. Full body, dense flavor, rich, low alcohol heat, good carbonation, vibrant and smooth mouthfeel, great balance, lingering aftertaste. Very bitter but more than supported by background sweetness. Very hoppy and equally malty, resiny. Delicious, addictive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber, tall but loose knit and quickly dissipating head. Slightly earthy nose. Medium body, full flavored, low carbonation and acidity which results in a flat mouthfeel, long aftertaste. Very bitter, overpowering the abundant malt background, resulting in a dry beer with a bitter finish. Hoppy, grapefruity, earthy, malty. Powerfully bitter, very nice drink if you are in the mood for that much bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is sharp citrus and apricot. Hazy amber with almost no head. Taste is pronounced bitterness, almost like an earwax. Im having a hard time with this beer. Im not sure what my problem is with this but to be honest I am going to pour this beer out. The malt seems good enough and aroma hopping is great, but the hop bitterness is just awful. Possibly an astringency mixed with high IBU’s. Maybe its a bad can.

Draft at The Mansion. Medium amber/gold body. Solid dose of citrus and piney hops; moderate alcohol warmth. Very good.
