COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Purchased six pack of cans at Binnys Aroma- smells mostly of bread. Not as much hop herbal aromas as i expect to get from an ipa. Appearance- nice burnt orange with a white lingering head. Very clear Taste- Tastes mostly of bread and malt. the hops come in next with a subtle piny and citrus flavor then dissipates quickly Palate- very dry refreshing brew. the bitterness lingers on the palate for quite awhile after tasting. Overall- not really the type of ipa that i prefer. i prefer an ipa to be more hop flavor based instead of malt based. All personal preferences aside i think this is an awesome beer well worth the six pack of cans i purchased.

12oz can at DMK. Pours a clear amber color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is hoppy, pine, some orangy citrus. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bready, biscuit, muted citrus hops, some pine, some grass, with a light bitter finish that lingers for a little while. A nice IPA.

12oz can 6/8/13 (Binny’s Downers Grove Miz a Six)-40° in Shaker-Pours a slightly hazy goldenish orange with a small loose white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste of the same with big bitterness on the back end. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a fairly thick, rocky off0white head that settless lowly and leaves some heaping clingy lace. Nose involves a whole gamut of hoppy goodness: floral, pine, citrus, earthy, herbal along with plenty of honey and sweet grain notes. Balanced sweet and bitter flavor: not over the top with bitterness, but plenty to balance the healthy malt backbone. Medium bodied, vibrant, a touch oily, with a pleasant drying bitterness on the end. A well put together IPA, and well-suited to those who favor some solid malt with their hops.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate floral hops. Appearance: small, frothy off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, light-amber body. Taste: lightly sour, grapefruit-like, initial flavor and lightly bitter finish with long duration. Palate: medium bodied with dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great hoppy aroma, but not excessively bitter.

Bottle, bb 08/26/13 (I’ve definitely come to this brewery, for its labels and bottle design, production and operational practices, and of course, good product!). Nose is gorgeous, huge, powerful citrus, juicy and a little dank with mild undercurrents of pine and perhaps oak. Orange, grapefruit, lychee. Pale, slightly gradient orange pour, transparent with a rocky off-white head. Soapy medium mouthfeel, crisp and spicy, touch of oiliness form the hops along with the resin; cleanses the tongue, light wood, balancing caramel and toasted malt. Super clean, alcohol well-integrated, lightly floral, medium bitterness is utterly clean. Dry but not punishing, with light non-saccharine sugar swipes from the hops, and a little earthy toffee when it comes time to buckle down. Supremely balanced for such a big boy. Hop notch, indeed!
