COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Itís balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Pours red-copper with a thinning head. Heavy hop, spruce, and resin aroma. Less citrus and tropical than many American IPAs. First sip was all hops and pine, a little on the boozy side. Strong hoppy bitterness, taste is solid but to me there was little in the way of complexity or change. I didnít dislike it all, but it wasnít my favorite offering of the night either.

commonmac (698) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 5, 2015
Bottle purchased at Haskells in Maple Grove and consumed with commonshawn. Deep golden color with a burnt orange lean. Nice half finger of head that lingers for a bit. Aroma is pretty stock standard IPA fare with some citrus notes and a pine characteristic. Interesting to consume as the flavor isnít really upfront...hits you towards the end of the sip and at the back of the tongue. Bitterness comes through and an almost malty, bready quality prevails. Almost IPA bread in a way. Coats the mouth with a oily, sticky feeling. Strikes me as a unique and enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Haskells with commonmac. Copper with frothy white head. Grain and some hop aroma. Hoppy a bit but thinner than expected. A little metallic. Flavor ends quickly. Some resin. Tastes better as it warms. Wanted more from this. Still decent.

Bottle. Pours golden red with a decent white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and malt. Taste is grapefruit, tropical, pine, and malt. Pretty good.

Nsanders (766) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUN 1, 2015
Bottle. Deep gold with a sticky off white head. Ripe pineapple, caramel, little citronella and bread. Pineapple sweetness with a soapy bitterness. Heavier side of medium with a fizzy, soapy water feel.

Shot (273) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAY 29, 2015
Bottle. Pours reddish gold with a massive fluffy white head with sticky, lacy cling. Aroma of pine and sweet grapefruit. Flavors are sweet malt; stone fruit; caramel; cut grass; and resiny, herbal hops. Bitter citrus finish. Slightly oily mouthfeel, but otherwise very clean for such a big beer. The hops are very assertive, but not overdone. This is really very nice.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-17-15. Listed as ďBest before 06/16/15.Ē Pours a clear, dark brass with a moderate to large amount of cream-colored head. Good head, pleasant color, but not an outstanding appearance of the liquid. Good, long-lasting, extensive lacing raises the appearance score from a 3 to a 4. Light, pungent, citric, herbal, hoppy aroma. Slightly metallic smell. The aroma is a bit lighter than I would prefer, but, in fairness, the aromatic hops likely have faded over the last couple of months. Dry, vegetal flavor. A touch of dirt in the taste. Perhaps a bit briny. Notably dry finish. Solid IPA overall, but itís not much above average for the style if at all. Dry aftertaste. Soft in the palate. Reasonably lively. Quite nice palate effects, nearly earning a 4 instead of a 3 in palate score.

RSRIZZO (1900) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 24, 2015
12oz bottle poured into a shaker at 42į. Color is a deep gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good giving a small white head thatís a bit loose on the edge and very tight in the center. Aroma is a light pine and citrus scent peaking out of a sweet caramel malt base. It has a medium body with a light crisp mouth feel. Flavor comes in with citrus and a touch of pine, then a mellow malt shows on the back end giving it a faint fruit note. After taste is bitter letting the citrus build up and hang on. Overall its a nice IPA, evenly balanced and easy to drink but not as complex and bold as the brewer claims it to be.

Brilliant apricot. Citrusy piney aroma. Taste- biscuity malt and slightly resinous, tropical fruit and citrus flavors. Nicely balanced. Solid IPA. I'd buy it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
