COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Bottle. Best before: 04/20/13. A clear amber pour with a smallish beige head. A fine aroma of juicy oranges, grapefruits, faint pineapple, caramel, and pine trees. Relatively medium-bodied on the way down. Caramel, a light biscuity presence, and some hints of buttered bread upfront taste-wise. Grapefruits, oranges, and zesty citrus rinds are plentiful towards the end. The alcohol is well-hidden. Nicely balanced. Well-done. A standard for the style.

Lots of sweetness, bitter hops. A bit on the heavy side for me, I prefer them a bit crisper. Mint, eughaluptus, pines.

Beautiful orangey-gold with creamy, though brief, white head. Aroma of pine needles and sweet malt. Resinous evergreen flavors which carry on into the finish. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this IPA and much to love. However, a bit more complexity would not harm this beer.

From a 12 bottle shared at home. Pours a fairly clear dark copper with a thick off white head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavors of orange, grapefruit zest, some pine notes, and some hints of light caramel. Full, carbonated mouthfeel. Nice IPA.

Light copper color with good lacing. Decent pine smell with some malt. Flavor is a very solid hop but yet kind of crisp and clean.. very decent IPA. Malta kinda sit on the palate a little bit after a while.

12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Hazy light amber color with a small but steady head and nice lace. Piney spicy nose with lots of caramel malt and marmalade. Sweet malt flavor, candied citrus peels, high bitterness and juicy hop flavors. Full body, long bitter finish, some alcohol and not so easy to drink.

Slightly hazy copper/bronze with a thin but lasting white head. Nose was plenty hoppy with pine resin, grass clippings, grapefruit rind, and a little sticky caramel. Flavor has some strong bitterness throughout tempered by some sweet caramel, but loaded with lots of hop oils of pine and resiny floral hops, and some grass, and some grapefruit rind. Not quite sweet enough to satisfy me, but plenty hoppy for a hop head.

12 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Copper-amber pour, lovely thick pillowy white head dissipates into a medium ring and retains gobs of lacing down the glass. Aroma exhibits lots of pine and citrus, bready. Flavor grassy, caramel, sharply bitter. Mouthfeel is medium, creamy, almost silky; nice. I don’t think the malt -quite- stands up to the hops here and so I think this is a nice beer but I don’t find the balance to be quite right. Tasty, though.
