3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark hay or light amber. Minimal head. Some chill haze? Smells much better than it looks. Some malt there but predominately citrusy hops- grapefruit, orange zest. Medium mouthfeel, bracing. Residual sweetness and smackability in the finish. Mostly hop-forward. Feels a little unbalanced to me but I like it. May re-rate taste as it warms. Not bad at all!

On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours an orange amber color with a white foam head. Aroma of delicate grapefruit, citrus, and resiny pine. Has a sweet citrus taste with a resiny hop hit. Nice caramel and grapefruit notes through the finish.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Snifter from bottle. A: pretty medium fragrance, simply smells of hops with slight citrus. App: clear, golden color with a slight amber hue. Long lasting, slightly tan, frothy head T: very top hopped, probably 3 hop varietals, predominantly goldings, very light front and very light back, same hop character all the way through. P: medium bubbles, goes down smooth with a minor burn/bite in the throat from the hops. Medium to long lasting aftertaste.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Dark clear orange with one inch of white sticky foam on top in a pint glass poured from a bottle. Fantastic hops aroma with pine and citrus dominating - this is what an IPA should smell like. Taste is solid hop bitterness, exactly what it smells like. Slight maltiness, smooth going down and a lingering of piney hops on the palate. A terrific IPA!

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Comes out of the tap a beautiful, slightly hazy golden amber with a thick, fine-bubbled pale beige head. Aroma is decidedly hoppy with an undertone of sour orange. Strongly hoppy flavor has evergreen, sour orange and woody notes, just a touch of bitterness, and a whisper of fruity sweetness - very satisfying for this sort of brewski. Texture has average body but plenty of fizz and liveliness. Finish is hoppy and a little citrus. Worth seeking!

Bottle served in a tulip. Pours clear dark orange with a medium head. Good retention and lace. Big time pine aroma with citrus to back. Medium sweet, light bitter flavor. Medium body, average carbonation, thin-sticky texture, and a bitter finish. Solid IPA.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2012 This is a rather Amazing IPAófrom Utah, no less. As craft beerís popularity grows, the IPA has become something of a showpiece for breweries. Everyone strives to come with a brew that has that bold, hoppy flavor with the strong grapefruit and pine notes dancing on your tongue. The trouble is that, the bolder you go with the hops, the more likely end up with something that has a more astringent finish than is desirable. I donít know what secret these guys have discovered, but this beer really rounds off the bad corners that IPAs often have while sacrificing none of the bold flavors. The alcohol is also a notch or two lower than a lot of IPAs, which I think really enhances the overall drinkability.

12oz bottle poured into a large Duvel tulip glass. Pours a clear golden color with about a one finger head after a semi aggressive pour. It must be my sinuses acting up but I the aroma is very muted on this beer. I get more of the malt instead of the usual hop aroma. The taste though is more balanced. The malt comes through at the beginning but the the floral, resiny pine comes through at the end and lingers in the aftertaste. Thereís no alcohol burn on this beer even though it clocks in at over 7% abv. I could see myself throwing back several of these on a warm summer day.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: clear golden color, medium sudsy white head. Aroma: big malty aroma with some hints of grapefruit/citrusy hops. Taste: bready maltiness up front, spicy bitter and citrusy middle, finishing with a kind of caramely malt, hop bitterness; interesting. Mouthfeel: thinnish but creamy body. Overall: solid IPA but not screaming anything to me. Like but donít love.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong citrus hop aroma, golden bodied with a lemony zing to the flavor. Packaging is top notch, custom bottle and appealing label, however, the IPA was focused squarely on hop aroma. I would have liked a deeper overall bitterness and more malt backbone.
