3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours orange-amber with an off-white head. Lots of grapefruit in the nose, other citrus and some pine as well. Taste is grapefruit, pine, a hint of bready malt. Fairly creamy with a drying resinous bitter finish. Pretty solid hop-forward IPA.

Draught @ Beer Revolution, Oakland. Rated on 19.10.2012.
Pours a hazy orange colour with a white lacy head. Aroma of caramel, mandarin orange and grassy hops. Flavour of strong bitter hops, pine, lemongrass and bread-like maltiness. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bitter, slightly sweet finish. Decent.

Struck me as your typical IPA, just a little more bitter and a little more smooth.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle kept refrigerated until serving about 5.5 months after bottling date.
Exceptional looking with very fine (probably natural) carbonation, an unusually cream head, and plenty of sticky lacing left behind on the glass.
The hoppy aroma features orange, other citrus, and herbal components, with caramel malt in the background. The flavor is similar, with enough malt sweetness to tame the potentially more aggressive hop bitterness. Has a more nuanced and appealing aftertaste with some nice orange and baked bread flavors thrown in with the typical grapefruit.

Bottled at SBWF. Hazy deep golden, small head. Lychee aroma. Sweet and bready with medium body with well rounded mouthfeel. Lots of sweaty lychee. Mid bitter finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Maria’s. Pours a nice looking deep golden orange, lightly hazed with persistent white head. The nose is distinctly hop forward, notes of citrus and faint resiny pine. Clean overall with a bit of an old school hop aroma. Big aroma. Faint malt. On tasting, it is medium high in bitterness. It could stand to be kicked up a notch. The malt is nice, touch sweet and supportive. Resiny hop flavors at the finish, not my favorite. A bit light overall on the palate which detracts. Still, solid NW style IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A steady pour into my Bruery tulip produces a three finger thick, light tan colored head that leaves some spotty, layered lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a red tinged, bright copper color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright copper hue when held up to the light. The nose smells of sticky, concentrated hop fruit backed by subtle cracker like and touches of clean sweet malt. Specific aromas of lychee, super ripe kumquat zest, touches of Juicy-Fruit gum, and lots of floral, tropical fruit / peach notes. There are softer, but still noticeable hop aromatics that contribute touches of pine, a bit of dank hop herbaceousness, some dusty peppery herbal notes, and even a touch of tobacco. The nose has a nice, ripe hop character that I expect to find in an American IPA.
Fairly dry tasting, with lots of herbal, menthol and woody hop notes, but there is still a substantial hop fruit character here as well. The malt is even more subtle than in the nose; there is a touch of rounded bready / cracker like malt, and perhaps a touch of toasted hay like character that just barely peaks through in the finish. The bitterness here is firm, but not aggressive, and the finish is actually quite clean with a lower bitterness than I might expect; but it does have a menthol and perhaps woody note that takes hold in the finish. The floral hop character and perhaps hint of malt character provides a note a bit like a fruity, floral honey. This is exceedingly light bodied and refreshing, yet has just enough body to support the hop character.
You can’t ask for much more from a visual standpoint from an IPA. Really, in total, this is quite a nice IPA; it certainly gives this hop head a nice hop fix.

Aroma is kind of mild. But is citrusy and pine. Flavor is good bitterNess, and a clean palate. Finishes a bit sticky oily. Overall a good ipa. No lacing, clear.

Bottle. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This a very good brew.
