Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Itís balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Pours clear orange with a soapy head that hangs out for a bit. There is some nice sticky lacing left behind. The aroma is exceptional. Fruity hops and pine dominate the nose. The taste is light and fruity with a bit of a hop bite on the finish. Itís a bit thin on the palate with a medium body and not much malt backbone to speak of.

Poured a very full thick tapioca looking head. Light copper color, brilliant clear opacity. Strong aroma of hay, clover, citrus, pine. Very full hop entry, malt seems to be in the background, but not balanced and there is the alcholol warmth at the end. Very very hoppy for this medium thin clean beer. Mouthfeel is medium-light, finish is not as long as I like, the citrus is overdone where it tastes like lemon zest and grapefruit pith. Still tasty, but the bittering hops here lack complexity, and levels of flavor that I like in this style of beer. Needs more malt, and more roasted character.

My Bottom Line :
This nearly crisp IPA sets forth grapefruit and flower aromas in a smooth body meant for easy drinking.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the misty amber shine.
-This might not be the most explosive IPA, but everything it does it does very well.
-Carbonation feels natural, which I like.
-Grassy hop resins conclude each sip in a tasteful fashion.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2013 1) Bottle from..California. Brassy copper honeycombed with white. Florid, tinned peach and mandarin aroma with enough hop freshness to keep it the right side of cloying. Iím not a fan of US IPAs that taste like London Pride but this pulls it off with aplomb.. and added soapy hop, digestive biscuit malt, husk, tangerine and peach. A bit throatsweet-y but I like it. 2) Tap, PBR Rockbar and Grill, Las Vegas, 29/10/13. Peach iced tea, caramel-dripped nose. Burnt orange amber with a thin head and messy lace. Sweetly floral with a bright uncomplicated honey and peach thing, maybe pecan. 636713.

I enjoy this hop heavy IPA, however the palate seems a little light and slighlty watered down. Thatís my only problem with this being an awesome IPA

THOUGHTS: Lots of hops but lots of balance, too. Nice malt backbone, but still lots and lots of hops. But the hops are never overwhelming. Rather complex hop profile. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, medium to dark, brownish orange with great carbonation and and average, off-white head that kept a nice sheet and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light to moderate caramel malt; moderate to heavy pine, resin, grapefruit and orange hops; and mango. The initial flavor was slight to lightly sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was light to moderately sweet and moderate to nearly heavily bitter. There was caramel malt, orange hops, grapefruit hops, resinous hops, pine hops, and a little tropical fruit hops. The medium body was a little oily and then dry with lightly fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

Dark amber color, two fingers of head. Nose is full of citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and resinous hops. Flavor is more of the same. Hop punch in the face full of grapefruit and astringent bitterness. Finishes nice and dry. A nice IPA and my first beer from this brewery.

Pint at Fountainheads. Pours amber with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, caramel malts, and a little spiciness. Flavor the same, with enough hops to make me feel like itís an IPA. Smooth texture. A pretty good beer.

What a wonderful IPA. After the pour you get a little bit of a head and a good golden color. The aroma is of sweet, sweet hops and the taste follow suit. Little lacing but mighty enjoyable IPA.

What a nice IPA here. Floral hops which are really evident as this guy is fresh. Bottled on 6-25-12. And balanced to boot. Really a super easy drinker for 7.3%. Iíd like to try other beers from Uinta based on their IPA.
